Mon Calamari Laying Mines in Space Lanes; Imperial Navy Intervenes

Mon Calamari Cruiser laying space mines along Minntooine Spur

MINNTOOINE SYSTEM - After hard-fought battles, the Imperial Navy halts Mon Calamari effort to lay more space mines in hyperlanes.

After one minor setback, a battle line of Imperial Navy vessels was able to navigate its way through a Rebel minefield in order to destroy two large mine-laying cruisers. The cruisers in question were placing mines along the Minntooine Spur in an effort to solidify the Calamari sector's isolation from galactic law and civilization.

Capital-scale Proximity Mine deployed along Minntooine Spur

The mine-laying activities come after the Rebels' perverse attempt to carve out the Calamari Sector from Imperial-controlled space, ostensibly in order to create a zone of Rebel control, where the few human inhabitants can be oppressed by alien overlords.

Space mines have been deemed illegal as inhuman objects of war. Such indiscriminate devices plague innocent civilians for centuries after the wars during which the mines were laid have been settled. The Rebellion's use of space mines is deemed unconscionable by reasonable Imperial citizens throughout the galaxy.

"That the Mon Calamari should stoop to the use of these weapons is truly disheartening," Mr. Prop Agandist, spokesman for the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) told HNN reporters. "Some day, long after the denizens of the Dac system have come to see the light that their misguided leaders have turned them away from, those mines will still be adrift in the space lanes of the Outer Rim, a deadly hazard to civilian shipping. The blood of all those innocent future deaths will be on the hands of the current Rebel leadership."

Imperian Navy to Double Patrols Along Triellus Trade Route in Spinward Slice

Spinward sectors of the Outer Rim within the Slice.

LANTILLIES SYSTEM - The 12th Sector Command will be doubling patrols along the Triellus Trade Route within the spinward sectors of the Slice.

Responding to Rebel attempts to escape the blockaded Calamari sector, 12th Sector Command, known as the 'Cerulean Spear' during the Clone War, has increased patrols along the Triellus Trade Route. These have the mission to thwart Rebels escaping the Calamari blockade by charting new routes through the uncharted backwaters of the Outer Rim.

Last week, a deep space patrol encountered a rebel corvette with escorts attempting to reach civilized space, with its hyperlane infrastructure.

The Rebellion is suspected of charting new routes to connect systems, such as Baros and Dornea to the larger interstellar hyperlane network.

The Triellus route runs the circumference around the Outer Rim, connecting the most spinward sectors of the New Territories with the most trailing systems of the Western Reaches. Imperial Navy lines will patrol between Sy Myrth at the intersection with the Salin Corridor and Junkfort Station near Hutt Space.

The capacity of 12th Sector Command to coordinate naval units across sector boundaries highlights the vision of the late Grand Moff Tarkin. Creating a system of Priority- and Oversectors, to command sector-level assets, the Empire has greater capacity to destroy the Rebellion and combat piracy and illicit trafficking. The structure allows enemies of the Empire and its people to be crushed, while still allowing smaller sectors to be governed by Moffs as personal agents of the Emperor.

While some Imperial subjects still find the structure of Imperial governance complicated, sources close to the Emperor say that all is proceeding as He has foreseen.

Imperial Navy Deploys Deep Space Patrols to Jubilar and Shadola Sectors

Deep Space Patrol formation embarking for mission on Outer Rim

MALDRA SYSTEM - The Imperial Navy is deploying enhanced deep space patrols into the Jubilar and Shadola sectors, aiming to locate Rebel elements attempting to escape the Calamari Sector using uncharted hyperroutes.

Sectors trailing of the blockaded Rebel Calamari sector

In its continuing mission to safeguard galactic civilization, the Imperial Navy is engaged in an effort to contain the beleaguered Rebellion in Outer Rim. To this end, the Navy is deploying long-range patrols into the depths of the Outer Rim where Rebel forces may attempt to seek free movement through relatively uncharted space.

The Calamari sector is blockaded by a significant naval presence in the Minntooine and Ruisto systems, interdicting the two hyperlanes into the sector. According to Imperial Intelligence, Rebel forces are likely to attempt to discover uncharted routes through the trailing end of the Calamari and Dominus sectors in order to escape the blockade.

The deep space patrols are making use of a new naval formation consisting of three small hyperspace-capable vessels and a small number of fighter craft. Led from aboard a VT-49 Decimator designated as a 'patrol leader', the patrols consist of the VT-49 as well as a Raider-class corvette and a Gozanti-class assault carrier. The Gozanti-class carries a flight of TIE fighters, while the patrol is further escorted by an element of hyperspace-capable TIE Advanced fighters.

The Deep Space Patrol formation represents a departure from the regular naval doctrine of safeguarding civilized systems from rebel attack. The formation requires deep space operations of hyperspace capable vessels in order to project Imperial power into the depths of the Outer Rim, where otherwise no civilized species would choose to inhabit or travel through.

Dac Sector Contained Through Stalwart Naval Action

The Imperial Navy stands guard on the edge of Calamari space, containing the Rebellion and disloyal alien species.

RUISTO SYSTEM - Thanks to swift action by the Imperial Navy, the outbreak of lawlessness and Rebellion has been contained to the Dac system, where the alien species - the Quarren and the Mon Calamari - have thrown their destiny in with the treasonous Rebellion.

Employing the 'Motti Doctrine' of more hulls against fewer numbers, the Imperial Navy recently assaulted the Dac system in order to demonstrate the overwhelming capacity of the Imperial Navy and deter any further outbreak by the Rebellion into the more civilized sectors of the galaxy.

Engaging the Rebellion with overwhelming numbers, the Imperial Navy has isolated the Rebellion, as well as their Quarren and Mon Calamari supporters in the Calamari Sector.

The recent action in the Calamari Sector has largely gone unnoticed by the Imperial citizenry, which goes about their daily lives unhampered by the vile treason of the Rebellion. Because of the brave action of the officers, crewers, and pilots of the Imperial Navy, the loyal subjects of the Emperor can sleep easy and put the rough edges of the Outer Rim out of their minds.

Moff Dzon Brennin

Moff Dzon Brennin, architect of the containment policy, has been recalled to Imperial Center on Coruscant with the personal escort of Lord Darth Vader.

The Emperor is rumored to be considering a new position for Moff Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer and hero of the pacification of the Arkanis Sector.

According to Imperial Palace insiders, Moff Brennin is due to be sent to the Unknown Regions in order to establish relations with the various aliens in that uncharted segment of space, and may never be heard from again.

BREAKING NEWS: Imperial Fighter Pilots Holding Off Mass Rebel Assault.

Rebel fightercraft assaulting Imperial positions

RUISTO SYSTEM - A large number of Rebel squadrons are attacking Imperial picket lines near Minntooine and Ruisto in an apparent desperate attempt to break through the blockading fleet.

The assault began this morning with the Rebellion outnumbering Imperial squadrons at a nearly two-to-one ratio. However, their expertise and prowess-building loyalty to the Emperor has given the Imperial Navy pilots a clear edge in thwarting the futile Rebel attempt.

The Rebel effort is considered futile, as behind the picket patrols, the fleets of the Imperial Navy guard the access routes to the hyperlanes leading out of the sector. Regardless of the outcome of these fighter skirmishes, the Rebel fleet will remain captured in the Calamari sector.

Rebel Attempts to Probe Imperial Lines Once Again Fail

Rebel freighter in futile escape attempt

MINNTOOINE SYSTEM - The Imperial Navy, operating together with the Imperial Security Bureau, has once again thwarted Rebel attempts to probe Imperial lines blockading the Calamari sector.

The Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) anticipated further futile attempts to flee the unremarkable corner of the galaxy in which they are besieged. As a result, TIE Fighter patrols, guided by ISB agents in stealth craft, were able to intercept two separate elements of Rebel craft attempting to quit the sector.

"It really is useless to resist," one ISB agent told an HNN correspondent embedded with the naval formation protecting the Minntooine system. "We have them bottled up, and we can anticipate all their attempt to break out."

"These rebels shall inevitably brought to Imperial justice - either through capture or..."

"...through ways that are more costly in tibanna gas than legal representation."

Asked about seditious rumors that the Rebel pilots had attempted to surrender before being shot down, the agent chuckled, "There was some message over the comm, that said something like 'remat...!' before it was destroyed. If that was an attempt to surrender, it did not follow the proper protocols."

The case in question flew a Corellian YT-2400 freighter with illegal weaponry while escorting a K-Wing style bomber. In addition to the heavy weaponry aboard the freighter, the K-Wing carried a payload of weapons of mass destruction, doubtlessly intended for the citizens of Minntooine, recently liberated from the Calamari scourge.

"Thank goodness for the Imperial Navy and ISB!" some local citizens said without any coercion whatsoever.

Rebel Escape from Calamari Sector Thwarted

A TIE Fighter patrol in the Minntooine asteroid belt

MINNTOOINE SYSTEM - Imperial patrols have caught Rebel fighter elements attempting to escape blockaded Calamari sector. The Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) takes it as evidence that the Rebel rank-and-file realize their cause is doomed.

TIE Fighter patrols have encountered sundry rebel fighter elements attempting to break through Imperial lines along the Minntooine Spur. The Minntooine Spur is a trade route connecting Dac, the Mon Calamari and Quarren homeworld with the Minntooine system where the Giblim Route connects the Calamari Sector to the Tion Cluster.

Having captured a rebel operative after the occupation of Ruisto, the ISB learned of demoralization among the Rebel fighter pilots. Doubtlessly, this despondency arises from the blockade that makes their cause hopeless and their appointment with Imperial judgement nigh. The Rebels even attempted to kill their former confederate in a strike against the vessel carrying the captive to the ISB station on Minntooine.

The naval blockade of the Calamari Sector

The captive was 'persuaded' to disclose the intelligence that the demoralized rebel squadron aimed to break through Imperial lines in order to desert their posts and escape the blockade. In order to prevent the escape, and to bring these deserters from the Rebel cause to justice, the ISB dispatched an agent to take charge of a TIE patrol flight.

The escaping flight of Rebel fighters, consisting of an A-Wing, and B-Wing and a new style of X-Wing fighter were tracked down and attacked. Imperial justice was swiftly meted out without the waste, fraud and abuse of the Old Republic legal system, when the TIE patrol led by ISB Agent efficiently destroyed them, leaving their remains among the asteroids as a warning to other Rebel pilots of their destiny.

Empire Seizes Control of Dac's Neighboring Systems

Crushing defeat of the command vessel belonging to the traitor Captain Phendan Brelan

RUISTO SYSTEM - In a glorious offensive, the Imperial Navy has conquered three systems in the Calamari sector, and now stands on the verge of capturing the Mon Calamari homeworld itself. The Rebellion is projected to be crushed within the coming weeks, driven back into the shadows after it loses the shipyard facilities in the Dac system.

Despite early setbacks in the Reginard system the day before, the Empire's star destroyers destroyed nearly all resistance before it, as it captured both Reginard and Ruisto, taking control of the Overic Griplink hyperroute.

At Reginard, both the notorious warlord Lyraeus and the uterly reprehensible Admiral Theia put up a defense of the system. The following day, Lyraeus appeared to have quit the field of battle, leaving Theia to hold Reginard on her own. In this she proved unsuccessful as one Imperial line drove her from Reginard and another from Ruisto. In a desperate attempt to save her infamous status within the ranks of the rebellion, she attacked her own Rebel cohorts.

Behind the front lines in the Dellalt system, meanwhile, several Imperial lines skirmished with one another during maneuvering and firing drills. The recent hard-won victories there provided the commanders, crews and pilots with ample amounts of debris fields in order to offer them challenges and prepare them for more combat.

A more stalwart resistance was put up by another Rebel commander - a vile traitor to the Empire. Line Captain Phendan Brelan was once considered a courageous and skillful wing commander in the Imperial Navy before his fall from grace. Now he suffers the hatred of millions of former comrades-in-arms and the disdain of billions of loyal Imperial citizens. He paid for his betrayal early when he was driven from Ruisto. In his cowardly flight from the front line, he fled through the Dac system to the Minntooine system. Regrettably his arrival there gave a momentary pause to another Imperial naval assault along the Giblim Route into the Calamari sector.

Fortunately, Captain Brelan's efforts proved to be futile in the face of the unstoppable Imperial advance as other Imperial commanders destroyed Brelan's Rebel confederates. The Rebel resistance was crushed on Minntooine, liberating it from their anarchic scourge. Among these was Commodore Naboobo, the hero of the Colundra system, who had routed a disorderly band of rebels.

Meanwhile, the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) reports of internecine skirmishes behind rebel lines. This is doubtlessly the effect of military losses triggering a power struggle within rebel ranks. The galaxy will breathe a sigh of relief when the Rebel menace has been lifted from the Outer Rim, and their alien cohorts brought under subjugation.

Empire Quashes Sedicious Rumor

Gozanti-class assault carrier Suppressor returning from patrol during which it did not encounter the fugitive transport Bright Hope

BRIGIA SYSTEM - The Empire refutes rumor and speculation that the fugitive transport Bright Hope slipped past its blockade at the Eredenn system. Those spreading this hearsay will be charged with treason.

Treasonous rumors erupted earlier today that the fugitive transport Bright Hope escaped capture by the Imperial Assault Carrier Suppressor. The Suppressor has been on a routine outer-system patrol of the Eredenn system, but the ship's political officer reports that no fugitive transports were sighted.

The rumors falsely suggest that the Bright Hope bypassed the Imperial blockade that isolates the rebellious Calamari sector from interstellar commerce.

The Keldrath Sector office of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) has declared spreading rumors about the passage of Rebel ships through the Imperial blockade as covered by the Official Falsehoods Act. Those spreading official falsehoods about such events will be charged, found guilty, and committed to the spice mines of Kessel for re-education.

The Official Falsehoods Act covers all statements found to be treasonous to the lawful order of the galaxy as governed by the Galactic Empire. Sector COMPNOR offices have the authority to place particular falsehoods on the Official Falsehoods list.

The Galactic Civil Liberties Union (GCLU) has appealed the decision. Pursuant to that appeal being put on the Official Falsehoods list, the chapter members of the GCLU were deported to the spice mines of Kessel.

Profile in Courage: Wing Commander Lamay Purvis

Major Lamay Purvis, Wing Commander for the interdiction efforts in the Caluula and neighboring systems

CALUULA SYSTEM - HNN profiles a man of courage on the front lines of the alien rebellion menace. Major Lamay Purvis, Wing Commander for the interdiction efforts in the Caluula and neighboring systems.

Major Purvis came to his current post seemingly in the way that others come to such command posts: waiting for his immediate superior to slip up and be removed from office. However, to Maj. Purvis' credit, he added such capacities as being able to inform his higher superiors of possible loyalty issues with those around him, and taking extraordinary risks with the lives of his pilots.

All of this mastery happened aboard his first commissioned posting aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Inflexible, star destroyer attached to the naval academy on Prefsbelt IV.

In order to provide his trainee pilots with the most hands-on experience, then-lieutenant Purvis assisted with the management and public relations of the Inflexible's fighter wing being deployed to combat operations in the Quelii and then Belsmuth sectors. He grew in this role, despite (and, in some measure, thanks to) never logging any flight hours himself.

When his superior defected prior to being executed for a friendly-fire incident, Purvis was ready and rested to take on the mantle of fighter wing command. He knew how to speak to the media, command his fighters to rush into battle, and allay the concerns of his superiors.

Now, Major Purvis has once again been thrust into the limelight and the challenge of command. He has been placed in operational command of the fighter patrols operating from the Caluula system, which also cover the neighboring Brigia and Saheelindeel systems. Personally recognized for his courage and capabilities by Moff Dzon Brennin's chief of staff's second secretary, Maj. Purvis feels humbled by the recognition, but also confident that he can step up to the challenge.

His fighters' mission is to interdict blockade-running Rebel smugglers. His fighter craft shall operate in concert with Raider-class corvettes and be deployed into the far reaches of those systems by Gozanti-class assault carriers.

Empire Retakes Turkana in Show of Heroism

Commodore Ma'gi'eo orders the attack on the Turkana system, destroying the Rebel fleet located there.

TURKANA SYSTEM - A heavy attack line consisting of two Imperial II-class Star Destroyers under the command of Commodore Ma'gi'eo destroyed the Rebel remnant in the Turkana system earlier this week.

The Star Destroyers caught out a rebel flagship, which was forced to retreat back towards the Mon Calamari homeworld minutes before facing final destruction at the hands of massed turbolasers. During the battle the commanders and crew of the star destroyed demonstrated skill and heroism, as these engaged in expert close maneuvers in order to mass fire upon the Rebel vessels.

The Rebellion proved to be overconfident in the new-found firepower of their refurbished luxury liners, as well as what is being called the 'Ackbar Doctrine'.

The 'Ackbar Doctrine', so named for Grand Moff Tarkin's ungrateful former servant, involves a cowardly gambit to skirt the edge of combat, relying on long-distance turbolaser cannons fired from broadsides. This contrasts to the Imperial Navy's more courageous direct approach of facing the enemy head on, and not fleeing from combat.

Denizens of the Turkana system rejoiced as the Empire finally liberated them from the chaos and lawnessness that had befallen them one month ago when the Empire evacuated important personnel ahead of the Rebel incursions into the Turkana and Codru systems. Only a handful of rebel sympathizers were rounded up and questioned, as much of the population had remained loyal to the Empire.

Imperial Navy Makes Gains Towards Calamari Sector

The Imperial-class star destroyer Pains of Justice exacts the Emperor's vengeance in the Codru system.

CODRU SYSTEM - The Empire is another step closer to crushing the Rebellion bottled up in the Calamari sector, as Munto Codru, along the Overic Griplink, is liberated from the Rebels and their Mon Calamari supporters.

In battles above the planets Turkana and Munto Codru, the Empire proved their mettle against the Rebellion that would tear galactic civilization apart.

After painful battles over the same systems last month, the Empire brought both justice and vengeance to the Rebellion today, dislodging Rebel control over the Turkana system, and wresting it away from the Rebellion in the Codru system.

In particular a line of vessels from the Grim Justice squadron, did great service for Imperial humanity. First defeating one Rebel line in the Turkana system before it drove further into Rebel-held territory, where it took control.

The commander of the line, an enigmatic leader known as Ma'gi'eo, was promptly promoted by Moff Dzon Brennin, overall commander of the effort to bring the Calamari to heel. The newly-promoted Commodore Ma'gi'eo shall command the Grim Justice, and be part of the effort of returning the galaxy to peace and stability, while also bringing the Emperor's justice to the traitors of the Rebel Alliance.

The Turkana system remains contested, as Rebels vessels under the leadership of the infamous Admiral Theia have ensconced themselves in an asteroid belt in the outskirts of the system.

Moff Brennin to Lead Calamari Suppression

Moff Dzon Brennin, formerly of the Arkanis Sector, in charge of imposing order on Calamari and neighboring sectors

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Emperor Palpatine has replaced Admiral Ren Darvox as the theater commander in charge of bringing the Calamari sector to heel. Moff Dzon Brennin, of Arkanis fame, has been placed in charge and will develop a different strategy to securing the sectors spinward of the Calamari sector and the Calamari sector proper.

After the deplorable carpet bombing of Mullan Prime and near-loss of Roodkasteel station in the Brigia system, The Emperor sent Lord Vader to assess the debacle in the Keldrath sector. Having found that Admiral Darvox failed the Empire for the second time, Darvox was reassigned to the morgue.

Moff Brennin rose to prominence several months ago when under his adaptive leadership, the Arkanis sector - a wretched hive of scum and villainy - was returned to Imperial control. Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer, made use of so-called 'Special Operations Units' to seek and destroy Rebel and syndicate starfighter formations operating in the sector.

During the campaign to pacify and rehabilitate the Arkanis sector, Moff Brennin came into conflict with a neighboring naval command aimed at an embargo of the Arkanis sector. The Savareen blockade involved the use of standard naval formations of starfighters and capital ships. Moff Brennin, demonstrating adaptability, quickly bowed to pressure from the Emperor to adjust his strategy to accommodate both the internal and external requirements of bringing the Arkanis sector back into the fold of Galactic civilization.

Rebellion and Wanton Piracy on the Overic Griplink

The Victory-class star destroyer Redoubtable evacuates women and children from the transfer station in the Munto Codru system.

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Imperial Navy Sector Headquarters in the Pakuuni system is reporting the successful humanitarian evacuation of a space station in the Munto Codru system, while different rebel warlords and factions jockey for power along the Overic Griplink.

Hostilities began when a pirate band of civilian-seeming small spacecraft ambushed an Imperial vanguard formation in the Reginard system. Meanwhile in the Munto Codru system, an Imperial line arrived at a transfer station in order to assist a pair of Victory-class star destroyers evacuate human children from the space station. Tragically, these star destroyers were part of a cynical ambush, as they proved to be crewed by traitors when they fired on the relief line.

It was at that time that Imperial Intelligence learned of vicious internecine warring between different Rebel factions, while Imperial lines engaged in training maneuvers in the Turkana system. The ships engaged in training maneuvers were quickly reassigned and ordered to answer the distress call at the transfer station in Munto Codru. While engaged in the emergency evacuation, the pirates reported in the Reginard system arrived at the Munto Codru transfer station. While two vessels were lost, the Victory-class Star Destroyer Redoubtable was able to evacuate the women and children aboard that station, courageously bringing refugees on board, while the armed freighters attempted to attack the Redoubtable.

It shocks the loyal conscience that these Rebels and pirates would wantonly attack a humanitarian relief vessel with such brutality. To great rejoicing of the evacuees, the Redoubtable was able to fulfill its mission and bring the child refugees from the Calamari Sector safe to Turkana, despite having a near encounter with the false-flag star destroyers that had attacked the previous rescue mission.

According to transponder records, the Victory-class star destroyers seen to be attacking loyal Imperial Navy forces are believed vessels lost to none other than the murderous Admiral Theia.

As the Redoubtable made the jump to hyperspace, avoiding the false-flag star destroyers, the false destroyers appeared to be under attack by Nebulon-B frigates known to be loyal to the vile Warlord Lyraeus.

Lyraeus, as bloodthirsty rebel a rebel as known to Imperial Intelligence, has proven to be so ambitious for carving out an autonomous fiefdom on the Outer Rim that his forces have more often than not attacked other rebel formations. Yet, as this battle between Rebel factions took place, the withdrawing vanguard line had returned to the Turkana system for repairs, when it was attacked by a rebel line in the Turkana system itself. The withdrawing line managed to make the jump to lightspeed, yet this unfortunately left Turkana in Rebel hands.

This occupation, while clearly a danger to the peoples of the Turkana system, their reign of terror is not imagined to last, as the Rebel units continue to fight among one another for their petty fiefdoms.

Lord Vader Tests Imperial Resolve; Resolve Found Adequate

Starfighter field of TIE Phantoms at an undisclosed location in the Pakuuni sector

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Lord Darth Vader tested the resolve and skill of a unit of recently-developed TIE Phantom starfighter craft yesterday. According to insider reports, the Dark Lord has found the unit's preparedness 'adequate'.

According to reports from recently-throttled sources, the battle-preparedness of TIE Phantom pilots was found lacking in the face of the criminal threat in the Pakuuni sector and the Tion Cluster. The late witnesses reported to an element of these highly-sophisticated craft having been destroyed by nothing more than Y-Wing, HWK, and Z-95 fighters.

Finding such reports 'disturbing', Lord Vader, a personal assistant to the Emperor, tested the mettle of a different TIE Phantom element based at an undisclosed location in the Pakuuni sector. To Lord Vader's contentment, the element in question was found to be adequately prepared in the face of an upcoming effort to root crime and insurrection out of the Pakuuni sector and the Tion Cluster.

The Imperial Navy's effort to eliminate crime and insurrection in the Tion Cluster and Pakuuni sector coincides with a renewed effort to liberate the Calamari sector from the mismanagement of its natives. The Mon Calamari and the Quarren, two barely civilized aquatic races from the Dac system, recently declared treason against the Empire and joined the Rebellion. In response, the Emperor ordered the sector's uprising to be suppressed.

With the Imperial Navy's successes against the Rebellion and the Mon Calamari, the Empire has taken on the burden of providing law and order in the wake of its advancing fleets. The rejuvenation of Roodkasteel station in the Brigia system as a signature project has already begun to bear fruit as local denizens celebrate the arrival of Imperial law and order on the Outer Rim.

BREAKING NEWS: Rebellion Driven From Shaylin System

Previously captured image of rebel frigate Blue Majesty believed to be destroyed in the Shaylin system.

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Imperial Navy Sector Headquarters in the Pakuuni system is reporting the defeat of the Rebellion in the Shaylin system. According to second-hand reports, Commodore Charis Naboobo - the hero of the Colundra Sector - has driven the infamous warlord Lyraeus from the neighboring system along the Overic Griplink.

Presently unconfirmed reports have the Empire in control of the Shaylin system - a strategic system along the Overic Griplink. Shaylin had been left in Rebel hands following the assault on the Turkana system two weeks ago.

Commodore Naboobo had been absent during the assault on Turkana, but has redeemed himself with the capture of the Shaylin system. Naboobo won the right to command the Imperial forces at Shaylin after a swift simulated skirmish between his battle line and that of another Imperial commander.

Precise details of the battle at Shaylin remain to be disclosed, though eye-witness reports speak of the rebel assault frigate Blue Majesty careening in front of the turbolasers of a Victory-class Star Destroyer. Another eye witness speaks of the presence of a smaller frigate of Mon Calamari design being destroyed just in time to prevent the destruction of an Imperial vessel.

HNN reporters will keep you up to date on the latest reports from the Shaylin system as details become known.

COMPNOR: There Are No Rebels at Dellalt

COMPNOR spokesman Prop Agandist assuring loyal Imperial citizens

CORUSCANT (IMPERIAL CENTER) - in a press conference, COMPNOR spokesman Prop Agandist reassured loyal citizens that the battle at Dellalt was won, and that the police actions against the Rebellion are proving to be successful.

In response to vile rumors and baseless hearsay, Mr. Prop Agandist of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) brought comforting words to the Empire's loyal subjects.

The falsehoods in question are spread by a little-noticed outlet on the subspace communications network called 'Alliance "Free" News' (A"F"N), which perpetuates false rumors and terrorist propaganda. Contrary to the manifest reality of the situation, A"F"N purports that the Imperial Navy's police action in the Dellalt System last week was a victory for the Rebellion.

"All lies," Mr. Agandist said.

"There are no rebels at Dellalt."

The action against the Rebellion at Dellalt was part of the Calamari campaign to bring the denizens of the Dac system on the Outer Rim back into the fold of galactic civilization. The two species of that system, the Mon Calamari and the Quarren, have fallen victim to the Rebellion and are presently being forced to supply the terrorist movement with combat-capable starships.

These starships have already been sighted on the front lines. Fortunately, these refitted luxury liners - designed to lay aliens in the lap of voluptuous comfort - are not considered a match against the effective war vessels of the Imperial Navy.

Meanwhile, A"F"N has become the laughingstock of the galactic newsnets. As a channel operating on subspace, it responds to events over a week ago, neglecting the subsequent crushing defeat of the Rebellion in the Turkana system, which brings the Empire much closer to reasserting peace and stability back to the Calamari sector.

Imperial Navy Drives Towards Mon Calamari Homeworld, Seizing Turkana

Theia's fleet of Corellian corvettes attempting to attack a civilian convoy in the Shaylin system.

TURKANA SYSTEM - The Imperial Navy struck a strong blow for galactic peace and stability today, destroying the Rebel presence in the Turkana system.

The Imperial Navy made a powerful advance towards the Calamari sector today. In the Turkana system, the vanguard battle line encountered stiff resistance from the forces of the abominable warlord Lyraeus. These were driven to retreat back to the Shaylin system. There, rebel privateers commanded by the infamous Admiral Theia attempted to attack a civilian convoy evacuating innocent civilians, but were halted by another Imperial attack line.

Admiral Theia is a ruthless war criminal, responsible for the mass killing of human civilians aboard an orbital station in the Ryndellia system nearly seven months ago. While cynically claiming to have an interest in protecting human life, the attack vector of her flotilla of corvette was unmistakable. Unfortunately for the war criminal, the convoy she had targeted proved to be an Imperial attack line commanded by none other than Admiral Screed.

Having routed Theia's forces, Admiral Screed pushed on towards Turkana. There he encountered the forces of the warlord Lyraeus, attempting to ensconce his assault frigates near a dangerous asteroid field. Lyraeus' bloodthirstiness proved to be a liability when his frigates were flanked by two Victory-class star destroyers under Admiral Screed's command. Lyraeus' forces quickly engaged the hyperdrive, imprudently driving deeper into territory reclaimed by the Empire.

With Admiral Screed's forces saving the forward momentum towards the Mon Calamari homeworld, Lyraeus and Theia managed to regroup at the Shaylin system. Rather than joining forces against the Empire, these two rivals for dominance within the Rebel ranks set upon eachother, as Theia's forces ambushed those belonging to Lyraeus.

Having captured the Turkana system, the Imperial Navy expects to suppress rebel activity in the Shaylin system, while moving on to Munto Codru system and ever closer to victory over the vicious and fractious Rebellion.

Imperial Forces Continue to Interdict Rebel Logistics Behind Lines

Location of the Eridicon system behind Rebel lines around the Dac system.

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Imperial Sector Command is receiving more reports from behind Rebel lines of Imperial Navy activity creating disruptions ahead of planned offensive.

After reports yesterday of Line Commander Bonner disrupting Rebel supply efforts, the Imperial Sector Command on Pakuuni has learned of another strike on Rebel forces in the Eridicon system.

The hero of this hour is one Line Commander Ricktus, who's precise name and rank remains undisclosed to protect his family from Rebel reprisals. Ricktus commanded a heavy attack line consisting of three Victory-class star destroyers and one swift Gladiator-class star destroyer.

Occupying the system's orbital supply platform, Commander Ricktus prevented a small fleet of rebel frigates and corvettes from re-occupying the station and using it as a transfer point for contraband produced within the system.

The Eridicon system lies well behind Rebel lines, and is a source of supplies being routed to the front through the Minntooine system.

Disruptions are interdicting the Rebellion's capacity to bring war materiel such as genocidal weaponry to their fleets. Furthermore, as an organization funded by the trafficking in contraband, these Imperial efforts are debilitating the Rebellion's efforts to traffic in spice and other narcotics. Some reports even mention rebellious aliens trafficking in human children.

Rebel Forces Driven From Dellalt System

Victory-class star destroyer Corrupter pursues the rebel flagship Blue Citadel from the Dellalt system.

CALUULA SYSTEM - Imperial Navy forces returned to Caluula, having successfully driven Rebel forces from the Dellalt system. Capitalizing on the intelligence gathered the previous week, Naval Intelligence projects that the system will soon be returned to Imperial control.

The Empire scored another victory for galactic civilization today, driving the Rebel forces of the infamous warlord Lyraeus from the Dellalt system. Some Rebel ships were destroyed while the Rebel flagship was pursued from the system by the Victory-class star destroyer Corrupter and its TIE Bomber squadrons.

The Warlord Lyraeus' flagship Blue Citadel, a refurbished luxury liner infamous for its decadence and depravity as a den of gambling and casual glitterstim consumption, quickly fled the Dellalt system, while the battle still raged. Doubtlessly, its crew dined on sumptuous Mon Calamari sushi while their misguided comrades in arms died by the thousands, brought to summary justice by the courageous forces of the Imperial Navy. Before other ships could also be subjected to Imperial justice, they too fled the system, knowing that they had been abandoned by their leadership.

This Imperial victory comes a week after an Imperial reconnaissance line located the rebel fleet of the warlord Lyraues massed at the Dellalt system. The fleet had been poised for a futile attack on loyal Imperial civilians in the Caluula system, aimed at punishing these innocent subjects of the Emperor. Fortunately, these plans were thwarted due to decisive action by the recently-promoted admiral Kendal Ozzel, recently recommissioned to serve under the immediate command of Lord Darth Vader.
