Moff Brennin to Lead Calamari Suppression

Moff Dzon Brennin, formerly of the Arkanis Sector, in charge of imposing order on Calamari and neighboring sectors

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Emperor Palpatine has replaced Admiral Ren Darvox as the theater commander in charge of bringing the Calamari sector to heel. Moff Dzon Brennin, of Arkanis fame, has been placed in charge and will develop a different strategy to securing the sectors spinward of the Calamari sector and the Calamari sector proper.

After the deplorable carpet bombing of Mullan Prime and near-loss of Roodkasteel station in the Brigia system, The Emperor sent Lord Vader to assess the debacle in the Keldrath sector. Having found that Admiral Darvox failed the Empire for the second time, Darvox was reassigned to the morgue.

Moff Brennin rose to prominence several months ago when under his adaptive leadership, the Arkanis sector - a wretched hive of scum and villainy - was returned to Imperial control. Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer, made use of so-called 'Special Operations Units' to seek and destroy Rebel and syndicate starfighter formations operating in the sector.

During the campaign to pacify and rehabilitate the Arkanis sector, Moff Brennin came into conflict with a neighboring naval command aimed at an embargo of the Arkanis sector. The Savareen blockade involved the use of standard naval formations of starfighters and capital ships. Moff Brennin, demonstrating adaptability, quickly bowed to pressure from the Emperor to adjust his strategy to accommodate both the internal and external requirements of bringing the Arkanis sector back into the fold of Galactic civilization.

Rebel Attack in Mos Eisley Shocks Galaxy

Wookiee terrorist engaged in violent assault on Imperial troop quarters

MOS EISLEY (TATOOINE SYSTEM) - The Rebellion attempted to bring violence and lawlessness back to the Arkanis sector yesterday, as it wantonly attacked an Imperial troop barracks in Mos Eisley on the planet Tatooine, killing scores of stormtroopers and local denizens as well as the local troop commander.

After months of peace and stability in the Arkanis sector, violence returned to that segment of the Outer Rim, as a cell or rebel extremists attacked an Imperial troop barracks. Numbering several alien beings, including a Wookiee and a Bothan, the rebel cell attacked the barracks with the intent to assassinate the local troop commander.

The troop commander, one Captain Kayn Somos, was a symbol of Imperial benevolence and generosity. Having served as a peacekeeper and drill instructor, Captain Somos was greatly admired by his troops as well as local citizens. Cpt. Somos's reputation as a bridge-builder between the Imperial troop presence and the local citizenry, is deemed to have been the cause of his being targeted.

During the height of the attack, local Tuskens - also called sand people - volunteered to defend Cpt. Somos and his outpost, but these selfless volunteers were brutally cut down by the rebels.

The incident happened after Imperial stormtroopers attempted to arrest a notorious narcotics smuggler, Han Solo, a known associate of Jabba the Hutt and the senator-turned-traitor, Leia Organa. The rebel cell in question was sighted assisting Solo's escape.

Local authorities are on alert and searching for evidence that will lead to the capture of the rebel cell. The cell, believed to consist of a Wookiee male, Bothan male, and human female (the latter doubtlessly acting under alien duress), is considered armed, dangerous and lacking in conscience.

Imperial Navy Overwhelms Rebels, Criminal Syndicates

Emperor Palpatine arrives in Arkanis sector

ARKANIS SYSTEM - In preparation for the Emperor's arrival in the long-benighted Arkanis Sector, the rebellion and the Rebellion and the paramilitary forces of the criminal syndicates of that region of the galaxy have been crushed. With the destruction of these forces of chaos, criminality and anarchy, the Arkanis sector is expected to return to Imperial normalcy without delay.

'Inspired' by the Emperor's imminent arrival, Moff Dzon Brennin ordered swift action to be taken against the Rebel and criminal presence in the sector. Contrary to previous policy, Moff Brennin encouraged the use of standard units of TIE/ln fighters and TIE/sa bombers.

Moff Dzon Brennin of the Arkanis sector

According to reports, while some starfighter elements continued to use experimental and state-of-the-art equipment, standard formations carried the day in the suppression of crime and insurrection today. According to HNN analysts, this was due to Moff Brennin's evolution of strategic thinking induced by the Emperor's approach.

Moff Brennin's 'evolution' comes after weeks of conflict between regular and special operations units on the borders between the Arjanis sector and neighboring sectors along the Corellian Run trade route.

Moff Brennin is a former Imperial Intelligence officer, who favored an irregular approach towards rooting out the Rebellion and the criminal syndicates within his jurisdiction. While he once claimed that "irregular adversaries require irregular means", Moff Brennin is now reported to understand the true power of standard Imperial Navy doctrine, and the New Order's uniform approach towards civil unrest and other forms of criminality.

With the arrival of Emperor Palpatine and a fleet of Raider-class corvettes in the Trailing Sectors of the Outer Rim, a strategic shift towards larger targets is expected.

Meanwhile, some elements of the Imperial forces in the Arkanis sector still await the reinforcement of the Raider-class, despite the scheduled commencement of operations targeting larger vessels along the Corellian Run.

Loyal Citizens Eagerly Await Emperor and Raider

Raider-class corvette in hyperspace along the Corellian Run

ARKANIS SYSTEM - In order to accomplish complete pacification of the crime-ridden Arkanis sector, the Emperor Himself is expected to visit this far-flung sector of the Outer Rim. Meanwhile, the Raider-class corvette remains to be delivered to the most benighted commands within the sector.

The long-awaited delivery of the Raider-class corvette is reported to have happened in several sectors closer to the Galactic Core, while the Outer Rim - specifically, the Arkanis Sector, the most benighted sector of the Outer Rim - is left in want of this powerful new vessel. Loyal citizens, eagerly awaiting the return of law and the New Order to their corner of the galaxy, anticipate the arrival of a fleet of these vessels with 'bated breath.

This fleet will reportedly carry Emperor Palpatine as He arrives to receive a progress report from Moff Dzon Brennin on the pacification and de-criminalization of the sector. Moff Brennin is reportedly redoubling efforts to bring the sector to heel with concerted effort the day that the Emperor is scheduled to arrive.

Expectations are that if the Arkanis Sector is not brought under control by the time of the Emperor's arrival tomorrow, He will order Moff Brennin's removal as well as for the Imperial Navy to deploy capital ships to the sector in order to accomplish what smaller fighter-size craft have failed to accomplish.

Standard Order of Battle Continues to Eradicate Crime in Arkanis Sector

Standard Imperial starfighter formation

VOR DEO SYSTEM - Following a string of victories for TIE fighters and bombers of the standard naval starfighter unit formation, the Imperial Navy defeats more criminal syndicate forces in the Arkanis sector. Moff Dzon Brennin of the Arkanis' career (and life) uncertain.

TIE fighters and bombers operating from the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Pernicious destroyed two flights of criminal syndicate craft today, continuing a campaign to wipe crime out in the Arkanis Sector. For months, the Arkanis sector has been plagued by a crime wave coupled with insurrection.

These successes come on the heels of a number of similar victories for the Imperial Navy, at a time when the ruling Moff of the Arkanis Sector had implemented a policy of irregular combat against the rebel and criminal forces. Moff Dzon Brennan, a former Imperial Intelligence officer, surmised that an irregular threat should be fought with irregular means. The 'Special Operations Units', frequently consisting of a hyperspace-capable VT-49 Decimator-class assault ships towing TIE interceptors with elite pilots, or other classified craft equipped with specialized equipment.

These differences in strategic approach recently led to hostilities between the forces charged with implementing the naval blockade of the Arkanis sector and those charged with eradicating crime and insurrection in the Arkanis sector proper.

The failure of the Special Operations Units compared to the success of the standard order-of-battle formations has put Moff Brennin in disfavor with Imperial Center. It is even rumored that the Emperor Himself is to travel to the Arkanis Sector in order to review Moff Brennin's performance. He is rumored to arrive in the Arkanis Sector later this week, complete with several flotillas of Raider-class corvettes to fundamentally change the nature of the counter-insurgency and counter-criminality campaign.

With the Emperor due to arrive, Moff Brennin has redoubled efforts to clean up the Arkanis sector before the Emperor arrives. A source unwilling to be identified claimed that the Emperor was less forgiving of failure than even Lord Darth Vader.

Hostilities Arkanis Savareen Escalate Further

Victory-class star destroyer Formidable (Savareen) firing on star destroyers of the Arkanis Sector Group

KHUBEAIE SYSTEM - Hostilities between the Imperial units of the Arkanis Sector Group and the Savareen Blockade Mission escalated today in the Khubeaie system. A Heavy Attack Line dispatched to investigate the attack on its fighter/bomber units was challenged by an attack line belonging to the Arkanis Sector Group. The Savareen Heavy Attack Line proved to be victorious.

This escalation of hostilities comes in the wake of a fighter skirmish that also happened in the Khubeaie system yesterday. Elite fighters belonging to the Arkanis Sector Group attacked a formation of fighters and bombers. The different sides are engaged in a jurisdictional and effectiveness dispute.

While the Khubeaie system lies well within the Arkanis sector, units of the Savareen Blockade mission have been operating on the borders of the Arkanis sector for months, destroying rebels and syndicate criminals along the Corellian Run, in systems such as Sirpar and Gorno.

Independent analysts believe that the hostilities are implicitly encouraged by Imperial Center to determine which strategic and tactical approach to the rebel and criminal threats will prove to be the superior one to put an end to the criminal insurrection in the Arkanis sector. Independent analysts are also disloyal to the Empire, because they are independent, and should not be taken heed of.

Meanwhile, another fighter skirmish took place in the nearby Heffrin system, a 10-hour coreward hyperspace jump from the Khubeaie system. A standard fighter-bomber formation deployed by the Vindicator-class star destroyer Pernicious one of the special-operations units of the Arkanis Sector Group. This time, however, the TIE/n and TIE/sa pilots were ready for the 'friendly' fire, and the special operations unit was destroyed.

Jurisdictional Dispute in Rimward Arkanis Sector

TIE/sa bomber craft on a bombing run against rebel targets

KHUBEAIE SYSTEM - Regular starfighter formations, operating under the jurisdiction of the Savareen blockade mission, executed another number of successful sorties against the rebellious criminal syndicates of the Arkanis sector. An elite fighter unit assigned to the Arkanis Sector Group attacked one regular starfighter-bomber formation to enforce jurisdictional exclusivity within the Arkanis sector proper.

The successful sorties included the destruction of clearly rebel formation consisting of A- and B-wing fighters. They also included the destruction of a formation of Y-wing heavy fighter-bombers sporting the colors of both the criminal syndicates and the Rebellion. This particular type of formation was reported on nearly two weeks ago, and supported overwhelming evidence that the criminal syndicates and the Rebellion essentially operate as one.

Location of the Khubeaie system in the rimward end of the Arkanis sector

With this regularization of rebel/criminal formations, naval strategists on Imperial Center argue for deploying standard order-of-battle formations, while Moff Brennin continues to hold that special-operations units, consisting of elite pilots in specialized spacecraft are indispensable for returning law and order to the Arkanis sector.

This strategic finding is, however, disputed by the Moff of the Arkanis Sector, Dzon Brennin. Brennin is a former Imperial Intelligence officer who facors an irregular approach to these irregular threats. A spokesman for Moff Brennin said the Arkanis Sector Group would begin enforcing its jurisdiction by attacking the regular units crossing into the Arkanis sector.

Yesterday, elite Arkanis Sector Group forces attacked a flight TIE/ln fighters escorting an element of TIE/sa bombers operating from the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Pernicious. The Pernicious is assigned to the Savareen Blockade, mission carried out by a multi-sector task force headquartered on Christophsis in the Savareen sector.

The attack happened in the Khubeaie system, a system located inside the boundaries of the Arkanis sector, rather than along the border areas of the Corellian Run, where the Pernicious would have had joint jurisdiction with Arkanis sector units.

Thus far neither Grand Moff Kaine, nor the Emperor Himself, have declared a solution to the jurisdictional dispute. More casualties from friendly fire are expected to occur.

Empire to Double Down on Doctrine

Gozanti-class carrier deploying a standard flight of TIE fighters.

IMPERIAL CENTER (CORUSCANT) - With recent successes in the Arkanis sector, the admiralty of the Imperial Navy has decided to invest further into the order-of-battle doctrine that has proven to be so successful. According to reports, the Imperial Navy will deploy long-range deployment vehicles for its standard flights of TIE fighters, rather than using Special Operations formations employed by Moff Dzon Brennin of the Arkanis Sector.

While the Corellian Engineering Corporation-designed Gozanti-class armed transport has long been employed as an armored freighter, the Imperial has been experimenting with fixing a standard flight of four TIE-fighters to the ventral surfaces of its wings, allowing the modest-size craft to transport the TIE fighters through hyperspace into territories distant from Imperial garrisons without the need to redeploy valuable capital ships.

Imperial strategists deem the Gozanti carrier to be ideal for far-flung places of the Outer Rim, such as the Arkanis sector. It would make obsolete the 'Special Operations Units' currently deployed to Arkanis, invalidating Moff Brennin's approach to rooting out the crime wave by unorthodox means.

Moff Brennin's apologists object, claiming that the Special Operations Units were not merely a response to the economy of not having to deploy capital-scale carriers and weapons platforms, but were also an insightful tactic against the nature of the syndicate threat of the Arkanis sector. However, with those Special Operations Units failing to wipe out the criminal threat infesting his sector, Moff Brennin has fallen in disfavor in the Imperial capital. The disfavor comes in the wake of a number of successes by sorties of TIE fighters and bombers flying in standard formations of four and two, respectively.

The Imperial Order of Battle for naval aviation is organized into wings of seventy-two units, consisting of six squadrons of twelve fighters/bombers, and each squadron consisting of three flights of four, and each flight of four consisting of an element of two fighters/bombers. The Special Operations Units, by contrast, were deployed in an ad hoc fashion, frequently consisting of two dissimilar units or sometimes three platforms.

Moff Dzon Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer, designed the use of the special Operations Units to respond to the highly irregular formations employed by the crime syndicates as well as the Rebel Alliance.

Imperial Naval Doctrine Continues to Prevail on Edge of the Arkanis Sector

Rebel B-wing heavy fighters prior to destruction by Imperial TIE fighters and TIE bombers.

GORNO SYSTEM - Once again, elements of TIE/sa bomber craft escorted by a flight of TIE/ln Fighters encountered rebel units along the Corellian Run today, destroying the neo-separatists. The galaxy can continue to breathe easy with the Imperial Navy securing the space lanes.

Imperial Navy forces dealt with two separate sorties of rebel fighters of the advanced A- and B-wing types, currently in favor with the traitorous Rebel Alliance. These victories demonstrate the superior mettle, training, and doctrines if the Imperial Navy over the Rebellion.

The Gorno system along the Corellian Run

While the Navy rejoices for its clear and unmitigated victories today, tactical analysts have noted the tactics an flying style employed by the rebel fighters. The first sortie, consisting of two A-wing interceptors and two B-wing heavy fighters, engaged with the TIE fighter flights using the tactics and flying style employed by graduates of the Imperial Naval Academy on Prefsbelt IV, suggesting the pilots were traitorous Imperial Navy personnel.

While the second sortie - also consisting of A-wing interceptors and two B-wing heavy fighters, but this time accompanied by an X-wing snubfighter - did not employ those tactics as effectively as their predecessors, they too betrayed the same styles. Tactical analysts infer that the second sortie was flown by very recent graduates of the academy, while the pilots of the former sortie were more seasoned than their successors.

While the sheer notions of such betrayal of the New Order and the Imperial cause are deeply disturbing, the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) asserts that this is no cause for alarm.

"Mental insanity leading to betrayal of everything a pilot holds dear is very distressing, of course," COMPNOR spokesman Prop Agandist told HNN reporters. "But it is also an unfortunate byproduct of the heavy combat that the naval pilots deployed to the Arkanis sector have to endure. Some defection is to be expected, but nevertheless swiftly punished."

"The Navy rightfully considers them acceptable losses," Mr. Agandist added.

Criminal Y-wing Betrays Rebel Transponder Code

Archival imagery of a Gold Squadron Y-Wing belonging to the Rebel Alliance

SIRPAR SYSTEM - Following a recent skirmish between Imperial Navy fighter and bomber craft, evidence of rebel-criminal collu- sion has become so widespread as to be incontrovertible.

During the skirmish, TIE/sa bomber craft targeting computers identified one of the Y-wing bombers as belonging to the rebellion's Gold Squadron.

Follow-up evidence provided by forensic research demonstrated that the Y-wing in question had been in rebel service prior to being outsourced or sold to the criminal syndicate involved in the skirmish.

The wreckage of the Y-wing in question was analyzed by forensic experts operating aboard the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Pernicious, the base ship for the Navy's units involved in the skirmish. Underneath the outer layer of paint, the forensic experts found the tell-tale paint of the Rebellion's Gold Squadron.

"It's not as if we really needed more evidence of rebel-criminal collusion," Inspector Plante D. E. Vidence of the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) told HNN reporters. "Anyone paying attention to HNN's reporting these last months would already know that."

Inspector Vidence refers to stories such as the markings found on Rebel-operated Z-95 snubfighters bearing the mark of Black Sun crime syndicate, as well as in the Parmic Sector last month.

"The well-established pattern of collusion between the Rebellion and the criminal syndicates demonstrates the true nature of the Rebellion," spokesman for the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order, Mr. Prop Agandist told HNN. "It is incontrovertible that this band of thugs has no legitimate political agenda. They are only working to create a sphere of lawlessness so that they can trade in their contraband of weapons, human pleasure slaves for aliens, spice, and pornographic filth."

"They are truly despicable," Mr. Agandist added.

Regular Navy Units Take Apart Rebel Criminals in Sirpar System

Crash site of criminal Y-wing craft. Inspection teams operating from the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Pernicious will analyze wreckage to determine origin.

SIRPAR SYSTEM - An element of TIE/sa bomber craft escorted by a flight of TIE/ln Fighters encountered criminal units in the Sirpar system yesterday, destroying the agents of villainy utterly.

The skirmish proved to be a text-book victory for the Imperial Navy, proving once again the Empire's space superiority over the obsolete starships of the criminal enterprises and the Navy's space aviators over the corrupt alien pilots employed by the crime syndicates and the Rebellion.

The Imperial victory also lends evidence to the superiority of the Navy's standard order of battle. Moff Dzon Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer, had mandated the criminals and the rebels of the Arkanis sector are to be dealt with exclusively using 'special operations units', consisting of irregular formations of naval fighters and patrol craft. The units in question were operating under the jurisdiction of the Savareen Sector Group, maintaining the standard order of battle. Moff Drennin's critics on Coruscant call for the removal of the Moff and his tactics for combating the rebel and criminal threat.

The Sirpar system, in which the skirmish took place, lies along the Corellian Run trade route, separating the Arkanis sector from the Savareen sector, marking the boundary between aggressive anti-criminal activity and a naval blockade working to deprive criminals and rebels in the Arkanis sector of necessary resources.

During the skirmish, Imperial space aviators are reported to have detected a rebel transponder among the criminal Y-wing craft. Analysts aboard the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Pernicious, base ship for the Navy's units involved in the skirmish, will engage in a search for forensic evidence to determine the Y-wings' origins.

Moff Brennin: Campaign in Arkanis Sector Proceeding Apace

The crime- and rebellion-ridden Arkanis sector.

ARKANIS SYSTEM - Moff Dzon Brennin has declared the recent sector-wide battle for the Arkanis sector an 'attritional' success, arguing that with the Empire's resource superiority, his forces will wear the criminals and terrorists down.

With the recent publication of the battle results of skirmishes in the Arkanis sector, analysts have determined that the Empire has performed en par with criminal elements and insurgents. While loyal critics of Moff Brennin have called these results disappointing - the forces of the Imperial Navy should be expected to out-perform any rank criminals or vile terrorists - the Brennin has retorted that these side-passenger critics do not understand the nature of the campaign to bring the Arkanis sector to heel.

"The campaign to bring the Arkanis sector into line is proceeding apace," Brennin told HNN.

While the Imperial Navy could bring overwhelming force to bear, Moff Brennin has deemed such a strategy to be an inefficient use of the resources provided by Imperial taxpayers. A slower and targeted campaign with emphasis on small fighter-craft engaged in surgical attacks on rebel and criminal elements will provide for a more thorough and less costly outcome in the Empire's favor, Brennin argued.

The quantitative analysis of wins and losses, has demonstrated a 7:6 edge of Imperial against criminal forces, a 24:21 edge of rebel to Imperial forces, and a 10:6 edge of criminal over rebel forces. While the critics argue that the Imperial Navy should be supreme over both rebel and criminal forces with much more encouraging numbers, the moff argues that the gradual depletion of criminal and rebel forces is to be preferred over an overwhelming attack on these enemies of the Empire's New Order.

Armed Dispute Over Order-of-Battle in Arkanis Sector

A flight of TIE fighters

GORNO SYSTEM - Separate Imperial units clashed on the borders of the Arkanis sector today, after a failure to bring an escorted criminal spice trader to justice. The jurisdictional dispute caused a rift between Moff Dzon Brennin of the Arkanis sector and the admiralty directing the blockade centered on the Savareen sector.

During a routine patrol in the Gorno system along the Corellian Run, an escorted criminal freighter was ordered to halt and submit to a seizure and search of its cargo today. The freighter refused and its heavily armed escort attacked the two flights of TIE fighters ordering it to surrender.

In an effort to interdict criminal and rebel supply lines, the admiralty governing the blockade of the Arkanis sector has ordered all traffic in and out of the Arkanis Sector to be seized and searched. In this effort, the normal Imperial order of battle has been observed, with the regular use of flights of TIE Fighters in formations of four fighters.

Imperial Navy units within the Arkanis sector, meanwhile, have observed an altered order of battle as directed by Moff Dzon Brennin, who has dictated unorthodox methods of quashing rebel and criminal activity in the sector. The standard for the Arkanis sector has been the use of VT-49 Decimator patrol craft operating in conjunction with elite TIE Interceptors or spacecraft of a covert and classified nature.

After the forces operating under the direction of the Savareen admiralty failed in their attempt to apprehend the criminal elements, forces under Moff Brennin were dispatched to show the Savereen units their place. In their effort to enforce their jurisdiction, the Arkanis Sector Group forces fired upon the Savareen units, which returned fire, ultimately leading to the destruction of the Arkanis units.

The authorities of Oversector Outer, governing both the Arkanis sector and the Savareen Admiralty, have dispatched orders to determine areas of influence and maintain distance between the different Imperial Navy forces.

Skirmishes Rage in Arkanis Sector: Outcome Undetermined

The Arkanis sector. HNN reporters embedded with a special operations element in the Andooweel system report on Imperial action against criminals and insurrectionist rebels. The Andooweel system is the last stop along the Triellus Trade Route before Tatooine, a notorious hive of scum and villainy.

ANDOOWEEL SYSTEM - Open warfare erupted in the Arkanis sector yesterday, as the Rebellion attempted to complete the state of lawlessness and anarchy in this sector of crime and insurrection. While HNN can report on the units with which it was embedded, the outcome of the full Battle for Arkanis remains unclear.

Signs were hopeful in the beginning of the battle, as a large number of special operations units were elements to multiple locations within the sector. The special operations elements each consisted of a VT-49 Decimator and a smaller nimbler craft, usually an elite interceptor, but occasionally a classified spacecraft.

Early in the fight, a group of criminal-element fighters were discovered in the Andooweel system and destroyed by the Imperial special operations elements. The rebellion, which had previously been sighted in the sector, came to revenge Imperial action on the criminal fighters. It has also been reported that evidence is incontrovertible that the criminals and rebels are in collusion with one another to spread a lawless reign of crime and terrorism. These rebels too were dispatched by the special operations element with which HNN was embedded.

In order to maintain their skills at the highest level, a number of special operations units also engaged in wargames with one another while in the sector. If this was also in order to create a false sense of internecine hostilities between the Imperial elements so as to confuse the Rebellion and criminal cartels, or if it was a means of entertaining themselves remains unclear. Nevertheless, the wargames between the special operations elements was clearly a cordial affair.

Towards the end of the day, however, the rebellion demonstrated stiffer resistance when a light freighter carrying contraband was discovered and its A-wing escorts managed to escort it away from Imperial arrest. Also, a flight of various fighters known to operate for the rebellion - X-wing fighters accompanied by a Y-wing fighter-bomber and a Z-95 escort (which have also been seen in the fighter complements of the criminal elements in the Arkanis sector) - attacked the special operations element in the Andooweel system. While the holocam feed to the special operations unit was lost, it is safely assumed that the special operations element defeated the rebels and the failure of the feed was simply one of technical difficulties.

HNN is standing by to learn the overall results of the battle for the Arkanis sector, but the Imperial Navy is still assessing the impact of their attempts to curtail rebel and criminal activity in the benighted sector.

Rebel Activity Detected at Andooweel

Advanced Rebel fighter craft encountered in the Arkanis Sector

ANDOOWEEL SYSTEM - Imperial Navy elements of the Arkanis Sector Group encountered stiff rebel resistance in the Andooweel Sector today. Rebel freighters move contraband to and from Tatooine, while advanced rebel fighters prey on legitimate shipping along the Triellus Trade Route.

A week after the Empire's successes in the Kemal Station system (see report here), Imperial special operations elements fight to secure free legitimate trade through the Andoweel system, while preventing illicit and harmful contraband from reaching good and loyal human citizens of the Core worlds.

Imperial Intelligence analysts, under the supervision of Moff Dzon Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence agent himself, have identified the advanced fighter craft as being of the E-Wing and B-Wing types. Both vessels are able to mout advances systems, such as Advanced Sensors and Fire Control Systems.

Andooweel system in the Arkanis Sector

The Andooweel system is the next system along the Triellus Trade Route, a hyperroute circumnavigating the galaxy from the Centares system in the Maldrood sector to Enarc in the Alui Sector. It represents a critical link in the galactic network of commerce.

The deployment of these advanced fighter craft suggests the rebellion is putting forward tremendous effort to maintain the Andooweel system, probably in a desperate effort to keep the Empire from reaching Tatooine and Geonosis, where criminal elements of the galaxy, are said to be headquartered and have manufacturing facilities. The Tatooine system in particular is considered a wretched hive of scum and villainy, as well as the base of operations for the criminal cartel controlled by Jabba the Hutt, a notorious gangster and crime lord.

While certain nay-sayers claim that the Empire should employ a strategy of taking and holding systems, Moff Brennin asserts his strategy of tactical interdiction and targeted elimination of high-value targets remains the best priority for pacifying the Arkanis sector. Moff Brennin further told HNN to soon expect vigorous action on the part of the Empire, as the sector is soon to withness a break between the rebellion and the criminal elements of the Hutt cartel.

Attempted Rebel Reprisal Fails

Intercepted footage of B-Wing heavy fighters

KEMAL STATION SYSTEM - two Rebel reprisal attacks on special operations patrols failed this morning. The Imperial special operations elements proved to too powerful and skillful.

In reprisal for yesterday's interdiction of smuggler freighters, the Rebellion sent elements of B-Wing heavy fighters to attack a special operations patrol in the Kemal Station System. The B-Wings were intercepted and destroyed without Imperial losses.

According to reports, the B-wings were flown by elite pilots, but were nevertheless countered by even more elite Imperial space aviators.

The successes in the Arkanis sector are being hailed as being due to the strategic leadership of Moff Dzon Brennin, the newly installed regional governor in the sector. Having had a career in Imperial Intelligence has inspired him to engage in special operations against the rebels and other criminal elements in the sector. These have proven to be effective.

Meanwhile, back in the Arkanis System - the Empire's stronghold in the sector - special operations elements engaged in wargames in preparation for an expected further escalation of hostilities. Despite today's and recent successes, the Empire expects the pacification of the Arkanis sector to still take weeks to accomplish.

Imperial Elements Secure Kemal Station From Contraband

YT-1300 Corellian light freighter: only freighter to slip through Imperial patrols

KEMAL STATION SYSTEM - After similar successes last week in the New Ator system, the Empire interdicted numerous smuggling craft in the neighboring Kemal Station system today.

Following Moff Dzon Brennin of the Arkanis Sector's new strategic direction, naval elements of the Arkanis Sector Group succesfully interdicted a number of rebel contraband convoys in the Kemal Station system today. All three convoyes consisted of Corellian YT-series freighter ships, a favored small freighter type used by smugglers.

Some of the freighters were escorted by A- and B-Wing fighter craft, types of fighters exclusive to the rebellion. These sightings further prove the fact that the rebellion is insignificantly different from the criminal cartels also operating in the sector. While the cartels engage in smuggling for profit, the rebellion uses its trafficking of illicit goods and human contraband to fuel its effort to destabilize the Outer Rim and ultimately the galaxy.

During the patrols against the contraband-carrying freighters, one freighter was able to escape after its escort was destroyed by the Imperial naval element. Its transponder code was marked Millennium Falcon, a notorious smuggling vessel operating in the Arkanis sector for a known Hutt cartel. Its B-wing escort betrayed it as a vessel operated by the Rebel Alliance.

Commenting from Imperial Center, a spokesman for the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) explained that this was typical of rebel activity. "The rebellion has to fund its activities, and it chooses to do so by running freighters with contraband - spice, weapons, human slaves - between the Arkanis sector and the core world or Hutt Space," COMPNOR spokesman Prop Agandist said. "It is bad enough that they're trying to undermine galactic stability with their violent means, but to support those activities with such smut bound for the core worlds - where civilization is carefully maintained - is a very tragic part of their activities."

Empire Strikes Blows for Truth, Justice, and the Imperial Way in the Arkanis Sector

YT-2400 Corellian light freighter escorted by new type of rebel fighter craft.

NEW ATOR SYSTEM - Imperial Navy pilots of the Arkanis Sector Group wreaked vengeance on the rebellion and the criminal element of the Arkanis sector today. They destroyed two separate elements of starships found to be spreading insurrection and criminality on the New Ator System along the Triellus Trade Route.

The first of the two elements at first blush seemed to be the notorious terrorist known as the "Green Baron", a highly capable yet murderous traitor flying the new E-wing-type space superiority fighter. Having been previously sighted in the company of a YT-2400 Corellian light freighter, the Imperial pilots were eager to bring the traitor to justice.

The special operations elements employed by the Empire within the sector had been given notice to be out for this Green Baron, but despite the resemblance, this particular element proved to be a different team of rebel insurgents. Clearly, however, the Imperial pilots were sufficiently eager to bring justice and judgement to the Arkanis sector that they proved to overwhelm these allies of the Green Baron.

In addition to the summary execution of these rebels, the special operations element encountered a pair of Firespray attack craft. According to transponder codes, one of these was one who had previously been in Imperial employ, but was now turning her heavy laser cannon on the forces loyal to the Empire. Fortunately for those who's life's work is to return law and order to the galaxy - starting with the Arkanis sector - these mercenaries-for-hire were insufficient to the task in the face of dedication and loyalty.

The Empire's victories today are testament to the ingenuity of Moff Dzon Brennin, whose strategy is proving to turn the tide of war towards both peace and justice. The trainings that his pilots were ordered to conduct last week are clearly paying off for the Empire and its loyal subjects.

Imperial Special Operations Flights Engage in Training Skirmishes

ARKANIS SYSTEM - Imperial Navy pilots of the Arkanis Sector Group engaged in training skirmishes today in preparation for continued action against the criminal elements and insurgents within the Arkanis sector.

Most squad configurations features a VT-49 Decimator, one of the Empire's premier weapons platforms for hunting both cartel operatives as well as terrorist elements seeking the overthrow of the legitimate galactic order.

Added to this configuration were TIE Interceptors with elite pilots capable of outmaneuvering and outflying the slower rebel and cartel starfighters.

This configuration is considered ideal for the mission at hand in the lawless and chaotic Arkanis sector.

Yesterday, Moff Dzon Brennin made it clear that the standard Imperial Navy order of battle for starfighters was ill-suited to the theater under his command. He personally relieved one wing commander of his command for ordering a standard flight of TIE fighters into the sector to combat the Empire's enemies.

Some commentators at Imperial Central (Coruscant) suggested that the Moff was questioning the wisdom of the standard Imperial Navy Order of Battle, which perhaps demonstrated his own questionable loyalty.

"The Arkanis sector represents a special case," Moff Brennin clarified. "The Imperial Order of Battle was designed to deal with a conventional military threat, such as the Separatists were. The Rebellion, as well as the Arkanis cartels, are nothing of that sort, and they require a special-operations response. This is what we have enacted in the Arkanis sector, and it is working."

With the Arkanis sector seemingly still a lawless region, beset by corrupt cartels and nihilistic rebels, the Moff remains to be vindicated. Voices for his dismissal are heard at Imperial Central in favor of a more doctrinaire approach.

Moff Brennin Sacks Wing Commander for Introduction of Academy Pilots

A standard flight of four TIE Fighters

ARKANIS SYSTEM - Moff Dzon Brennin personally had an unnamed wing commander serving aboard a Gladiator-class star destroyer dismissed from the service today. The wing commander's offense being the introduction of a standard flight of Academy-trained TIE fighter pilots on a mission in the Arkanis sector.

The dismissal came after a number of skirmishes involving newly-trained TIE pilots in the Sirpar system. While the Rebels encountered in one skirmish proved to be little more prepared, the casualties were deemed unacceptable. Even the flight's commanding officer, himself a seasoned squad leader, was deemed to fly little better than a cadet.

In a following skirmish in the same system, another flight of TIE Fighters were ignominiously dispatched by pirate Y-Wings. In both skirmishes, the TIE Fighter pilots were recent graduates of the naval academy without many flight hours.

The use of freshly-graduated flight officers from the Naval Academy at Prefsbelt IV was prohibited by the regional governor in his strategic memo when taking charge of the Arkanis sector. This strategic memo, previously undisclosed to HNN, determined that the Imperial Navy would use special operations units within the Arkanis sector, rather than standard order-of-battle Flights of TIE fighters.

The standard order of battle was decided to be ill-suited for service within the chaotic Arkanis sector, which is beset by criminality and insurrection. The use of irregular and special operations units, with covert aspects, is directed to be the approach taken by all units of the Arkanis Sector Group.

"This isn't the Core where you use a civilized war-fighting method to fight a civilized opponent," Moff Brennin told HNN. "Out here in the Arkanis sector, you've got to fight an asymmetrical threat with asymmetrical means. The Arkanis sector is a wretched hive of treason and villainy, and the Sector Group will fight these terrorists and cartels the way that they deserve to be fought."
