Pandemonium on Ryloth; Empire Did Not Want to Govern It Anyway

Insurgent Cham Syndulla of Ryloth

DALCHON SYSTEM - Ryloth descended further into anarchy today, as rival rebel factions struggled for power in the renegade, Twi'lek-dominated system. Imperial forces decided that the system has proven ungovernable, with local population incapable of achieving requisite levels of civilization.

Arriving in the system in order to re-establish a minimal level of peace and security in the far, Outer-Rim end of the Corellian Run, Imperial Forces encountered a pandemonium in orbit around the Ryloth system's three planets. Intelligence analysts aboard the vessels of the Imperial navy group sent to pacify Ryloth assessed that rival rebellious factions were striving for local supremacy.

Terrorists like Cham Syndulla, who even during the days of the Republic was a guerilla activist against the republican government of Ryloth, are considered to simply make ryloth ungovernable without thorough re-education of the local population.

As a result, Imperial forces largely withdrew, allowing the disparate Rebel factions to quarrel among themselves.

Critics argued that the Emperor had ordered Ryloth's autonomy rescinded, demanding to know why the Navy was unable to deliver.

"Just because the Empire does not recognize Ryloth's autonomy," Mr. Prop Agandist of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) told HNN, "does not mean that the Empire must spend the blood and treasure to bring Imperial governance to this anarchic corner of the galaxy."

Senior Outer-Rim Analyst Benn Gleck explains the inherent problems of the Ryloth system and the Outer Rim.

HNN Outer-Rim analyst Benn Gleck explained the inherent problems of bringing Imperial civilization to the far-flung reaches of the Outer Rim.

"Aliens," Gleck said.

Galactic civilization was created and maintained by humans of Core Worlds. Only they have created the integral institutions which can maintain an interplanetary society worthy of the label 'civilization'. Aliens can mimick what humans do, which is why so many aliens in the Core Worlds are able to live within Imperial society. However, on the Outer Rim, human influence is not sufficiently established to gain an adequate foothold.

"Left to themselves, aliens will quarrel and struggle for meager resources, and for each minor warlord to be the hegemon of his own fiefdom," Gleck argued.

"It's best that they are left to do the bloodletting themselves," Gleck advised. "Perhaps when enough of them have died they will realize the bounty of Imperial governance.

Empire to Rescind Autonomy Ryloth

Tann Province on Ryloth; haven for Rebels and criminals

IMPERIAL CENTER (CORUSCANT) - After disappointing developments on Ryloth, and elsehere in the Gaulus sector, the Emperor has decided to rescind the autonomy of the Ryloth system.

The decision to rescind autonomy comes after nearly a month of mismanagement and continued insurrection in the far southeastern arm of the galaxy, at the end of the Corellian Run hyperlane.

Advocates for autonomy argued that self-governance would pacify the denizens of the planet. The Twi'lek people have not, however, proven to be content with self-governance, regrettably proving to be an ingrate people, like so many alien inhabitants of the Outer Rim.

Ryloth and Dalchon systems along Corellian Run

In order to put a solid grip on the Ryloth system, the Imperial Navy Admiralty aims to secure both the Ryloth system proper, including its three orbits, as well as the Dalchon system. The Dalchon system lies coreward from Ryloth along the Corellian Run. With hyperspace interdiction at these locations, the Imperial Navy will be able to enact a blockade, forcing the Twi'leks to surrender their autonomy.

The Ryloth system consists of the following planets:

  • Mon Bala
  • Ryloth
  • Or Tuma

It is believed that the Rebellion will further incite the Twi'leks, and their terrorist ringleader Cham Syndulla, by opposing the efforts of the Imperial Navy. The Gaulus sector around Ryloth is infamous for its Rebel gangs and criminal cartels.

The admiralty has warned that any interference with the pacification of the Twi'leks by the Rebellion is likely to result in the orbital bombardment of the main planet.

"In order to save the planet, we may have to bombard the planet," a spokesman for the Imperial Navy told HNN.

Empire Grants Ryloth Autonomy

Planet Ryloth

RYLOTH SYSTEM - Amid a descent into violence in the Gaulus sector, and removing insurgent and criminal threats from the Ryloth system, the Empire has granted Ryloth autonomy. Donalo Fortuna elected planetary governor.

Despite the many benefits and belevolence the Empire has showered on the planet of Ryloth and the Twi'lek people, the denizens of this alien world voted for autonomy from the Empire, electing the Coruscant real-estate developer Donalo Fortuna planetary governor.

The vote happened amid spiraling violence between insurgent rebel forces and criminal cartels elsewhere in the sector. Beyond this insurgent-on-criminal skirmishes, there was also much internecine conflict between Rebel and cartel factions, demonstrating the lack of coherence within different Rebel and cartel groups. In the midst of this tug-of-war between cartels, insurgents and different factions, Imperial Navy assets kept Ryloth free from hostile invasion.

Coruscant developer Donalo Fortuna, ReadJunk

As ingrate aliens, however, the Twi'leks of Ryloth voted for autonomy, which the Emperor has graciously granted them. Imperial forces will depart Ryloth, leaving the responsibility for maintaining law and order to local forces.

Reimposing law and order on the Gaulus sector will be a tough task for Governor-elect Fortuna, as Rebels have usurped control over the nearby Pelgrin system, while the Wrea, Dalchon, and Gaulus systems have become battlegrounds for factional infighting between and within Rebel gangs and criminal cartels.

Particularly the Wrea system at the very end of the Corellian Run hyperspace trade route has fallen under the sway of the Scum Lord Stason Joltz, operating far from his lair at Junkfort Station.

With developer Donalo Fortuna taking charge of governance on this Outer Rim world, analysts expect deals to be made with criminal cartels in order to keep Ryloth, and eventually the Gaulus sector, free from Rebel influence. According to critics, Fortuna is merely the puppet of a shadowy criminal cartel led by an unknown crime lord from even farther out of the Outer Rim.

Investors on Scipio have seen Ryll futures plummet. Ryll is a precious ore harvested from the mines of Ryloth. It has military and scientific applications, but can also be used as a narcotic.

Armed Hostilities Erupt Between Criminal and Insurgent Forces in Gaulus Sector

Rebel X-wing fighters (from archive)

RYLOTH SYSTEM - Hostilities have erupted between criminal and insurgent armed groups in the Gaulus sector. Imperial forces attempt to suppress senseless violence.

A number of skirmishes between insurgents, criminals and other malcontents have erupted spontaneously in the Gaulus sector, an Outer Rim Territory at the end of the Corellian Run. The systems plagued by the the violent groups are the Ryloth, Wrea, Dalchon, Gaulus, and Pelgrin systems. Imperial forces were swift to respond in the Ryloth system.

Early reports have Imperial forces defeating the Rebellion in the Ryloth system. Criminal cartels, meanwhile, have dealt deadly blows against Rebel forces in the Dalchon, Wrea, Pelgrin, and Gaulus systems.

Imperial Navy Suppresses Insurgencies in Centrality

Map of the Centrality sector of the Outer Rim

ERILNAR - With superior numbers, Imperial forces suppressed insurgencies in a number of systems in the Centrality sector today.

A number of skirmishes against insurgents, criminals and other malcontents took place along the Falco Run, in the far-flung Centrality sector. Most were decisively put down by large numbers of Imperial forces.

The affected systems were the Dilonexa, Oseon, and Ringneldia systems, where Imperial forces responded swiftly aboard Gozanti-class assault carriers.

The insurgents consisted of various criminal factions of the Outer Rim, including renegade Mandalorians, members of the so-called 'Rebel Alliance', and another shadowy group, known as the 'Rifts Coalition'. Some Rebel vessels included repainted Z-95 Headhunters from the Black Sun cartel, infamous for spice trading, human trafficking, and racketeering. This is taken as further evidence that the Rebellion is in league with the Black Sun criminal cartel.

While most insurgencies were suppressed, a number of Rebel starfighters were able to break out of the Imperial cordon. These included the repainted Black Sun Headhunters. These Rebels are suspected to be refugees from the blockaded region of the Calamari sector.

According to the sector authorities, only a squadron's worth of fighters escaped. Such a small number is not deemed to be of concern to loyal Imperial citizens.

Despite its name, the Centrality Sector lies in the outermost reaches of the Outer Rim, far from the civilized core worlds, which the Emperor has vowed to keep safe from such insurgents. Beyond being plagued by insurgents, Centrality also suffers from a space slug infestation, with these ravenous creatures inhabiting large asteroids.

Rebellion and Thugs Skirmish for Turf in the Coruscant Underworld

Civilian population of Cloud City protests Rebel attack

CORUSCANT (IMPERIAL CENTER) - Imperial Stormtroopers and even Imperial Guardsmen move to quash illegal and subversive combatants in the capital city's underworld.

The lawlessness of the Outer Rim has struck even in the Empire's very heart, as gangs and Rebel insurgents squabble for turf in the underbelly of the Ecumenopolis. Some Rebel factions have even turned their blasters on one another.

According to eye-witnesses, the hostilities within the rebellion represent a rift between the Rebellion's alien faction, and the faction led by religious zealots.

According to an Imperial Security Bureau spokesman, the struggles within the lower orders of Coruscant represents a sign that the Rebellion is closer to final defeat.

"If the Rebellion were gaining ground in the Outer Rim, instead of being crushed by the Imperial Navy, then they would be out in the Outer Rim attempting to hold territory. Instead, they are here in our midst, struggling to capture garbage in Coruscant's gutters."

In addition to Rebel insurgents, some of Coruscant's alien denizens resisted Imperial efforts to impose order on the lower levels. These were mostly aliens recalcitrant to Imperial Center's legitimate alien restrictions, which is why they were found outside of the Alien Protection Zone, colloquially referred to as 'InviSec'.

Scum Lord Joltz Projects Reign of Crime; Imperial Navy Questions Advanced Starfighters

Assorted pirate starfighters under the banner of the Scum Lord, Stason Joltz

REUSS SYSTEM - while conducting extensive raids on criminal operations in the Parmic Sector, a number of elite formations of TIE/x7 "Defender" starfighters were ambushed by pirates believed to be loyal to the infamous Scum Lord of Junkfort Station, Stason Joltz.

Pirates with allegiance to the Scum Lord of Junkfort Station, Stason Joltz have expanded their piracy and mayhem outside of the distant Tharin sector. In so doing, they attacked several formations of Imperial Navy starfighters, many of which included upgraded models of TIE/x7 "Defenders". The defeat of the elite starfighter formations is said to be a vindication of factions within the Imperial Navy that argue for a stricter adherence to older Imperial Navy doctrine.

"The Imperial Navy has a doctrine of dispensable numerical superiority," one Navy insider told HNN. "Strictly inspired by the New Order laid down by the Emperor, it is the key to military success, from which the Navy must not deviate."

New advanced starfighter craft, which include the TIE/Ad x7, but also other models such as the TIE/Ad v1 and TIE/IT "Punisher", have been innovations on the tried and true TIE/ln starfighter, which provides the Navy with the bulk of its squadron complements. These are the brainchildren of Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin, the Empire's, whose prototypes are being tested in the Parmic sector.

Included among the elite formations were the civilian volunteers from House Benelex, whose formation resembled loosely the 'Special Operations Flights' which had been deployed by Moff Dzon Brennin in the pacification of the Arkanis sector last year. These consisted of a small elite craft working closely with a VT-49 "Decimator" patrol craft.

"The failure of these so-called 'Advanced' starfighters is a sign that we need to cease with these Zaarinist experiments. Questioning the naval doctrine of the New Order is the same as questioning the wisdom of the Emperor Palpatine," the Navy insider asserted.

The Parmic sector is an outlying region of space on the Outer Rim, infamous for its spice smugglers. Last year, Imperial forces quashed Rebel and other criminal activity in the area in an overall successful campaign to isolate the Arkanis sector. It is argued by some that the necessity to reorient the activities of the Imperial Navy towards the siege of the Calamari sector, meant allowing criminal and insurgent elements to revive in these trailing sectors of the Outer Rim.

Battles Erupt Across Tharin Sector

The Tharin Sector

BOONTA SYSTEM - The Rebellion and criminal syndicates challenged Imperial control along the Triellus Trade Route in a number of dastardly strikes against the legitimate maintenance of law and order.

In a surprise attack in the Junkfort system, the Rebellion captured space superiority around the system's main space station. Imperial patrols were away from their defensive posts at the time, attempting to secure hyperlane nodes in the Boonta, Sriluur, and Taskeed systems.

In their efforts to combat the insurrection of anarchy and criminality, the Empire opted to focus their attention on the Boonta system. The Boonta system lies coreward of Tharin in the neighboring Suolriep sector, at the crossroutes of critical hyperlanes in the region. The local inhabitants praised the Empire for their heroic efforts on behalf of protecting them from the dual threats of the Rebellion and criminal syndicates.

Unfortunately, the Empire's focus on the Boonta system also resulted in Rebel victories in the Sriluur and Nimat systems. According to reports from the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), no sooner had the Rebellion taken command of those systems with their fightercraft, that they fell out into disparate factions, warring between themselves. The ISB reported this as being 'typical behavior' for Rebel and syndicate factions.

Among Imperial formations some friendly fire was exchanged, but was categorized by the ISB as 'perfectly healthy rivalry' between Imperial flight commanders hoping to demonstrate their prowess and loyalty to the Emperor.

Dac Sector Contained Through Stalwart Naval Action

The Imperial Navy stands guard on the edge of Calamari space, containing the Rebellion and disloyal alien species.

RUISTO SYSTEM - Thanks to swift action by the Imperial Navy, the outbreak of lawlessness and Rebellion has been contained to the Dac system, where the alien species - the Quarren and the Mon Calamari - have thrown their destiny in with the treasonous Rebellion.

Employing the 'Motti Doctrine' of more hulls against fewer numbers, the Imperial Navy recently assaulted the Dac system in order to demonstrate the overwhelming capacity of the Imperial Navy and deter any further outbreak by the Rebellion into the more civilized sectors of the galaxy.

Engaging the Rebellion with overwhelming numbers, the Imperial Navy has isolated the Rebellion, as well as their Quarren and Mon Calamari supporters in the Calamari Sector.

The recent action in the Calamari Sector has largely gone unnoticed by the Imperial citizenry, which goes about their daily lives unhampered by the vile treason of the Rebellion. Because of the brave action of the officers, crewers, and pilots of the Imperial Navy, the loyal subjects of the Emperor can sleep easy and put the rough edges of the Outer Rim out of their minds.

Moff Dzon Brennin

Moff Dzon Brennin, architect of the containment policy, has been recalled to Imperial Center on Coruscant with the personal escort of Lord Darth Vader.

The Emperor is rumored to be considering a new position for Moff Brennin, a former Imperial Intelligence officer and hero of the pacification of the Arkanis Sector.

According to Imperial Palace insiders, Moff Brennin is due to be sent to the Unknown Regions in order to establish relations with the various aliens in that uncharted segment of space, and may never be heard from again.

Grand Battle in Dac System: Empire Claims Victory

Imperial Star Destroyers taking the fight to the Rebellion

RUISTO SYSTEM - The Empire pressed the fight for order, justice, and the Imperial Way against the Rebellion and their alien supporters today, nearly capturing the Dac system.

With great feats of bravery, the captains, crews, and pilots of the Imperial Navy fought to restore order and stability back to the Calamari System, which has known months of separatism and alien domination.

Some Imperial commanders, such as Commodores Naboobo and Ma'gi'eo, were awarded accolades from the Emperor for their bravery, others were 'dismissed' for their failures. Meanwhile, some notorious rebels, such as the despicable traitor Phendan Brelan, are being pursued by bounty hunters.

While the Dac system was not fully captured yesterday, Fleet Command is declaring a victory for the Empire on the account of attrition and resources.

"The Rebellion cannot sustain these losses," Admiral Kendal Ozzel, one of the admirals of the fleet, told HNN in an interview. "The Empire has vast resources that the Rebellion simply does not possess. The longer this drags out, the sooner this war will be over."

Back home, civilians are wondering how long the war will continue. With many no longer tuning in their HoloNet viewers to the news, the war in the Outer Rim seems a distant annoyance.

While citizens are encouraged to support the crews, the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) assures the Empire's loyal subjects that progress towards bringing the Calamari separatists to heel is proceeding apace, and they need not pay attention to details about the war.

Empire Seizes Control of Dac's Neighboring Systems

Crushing defeat of the command vessel belonging to the traitor Captain Phendan Brelan

RUISTO SYSTEM - In a glorious offensive, the Imperial Navy has conquered three systems in the Calamari sector, and now stands on the verge of capturing the Mon Calamari homeworld itself. The Rebellion is projected to be crushed within the coming weeks, driven back into the shadows after it loses the shipyard facilities in the Dac system.

Despite early setbacks in the Reginard system the day before, the Empire's star destroyers destroyed nearly all resistance before it, as it captured both Reginard and Ruisto, taking control of the Overic Griplink hyperroute.

At Reginard, both the notorious warlord Lyraeus and the uterly reprehensible Admiral Theia put up a defense of the system. The following day, Lyraeus appeared to have quit the field of battle, leaving Theia to hold Reginard on her own. In this she proved unsuccessful as one Imperial line drove her from Reginard and another from Ruisto. In a desperate attempt to save her infamous status within the ranks of the rebellion, she attacked her own Rebel cohorts.

Behind the front lines in the Dellalt system, meanwhile, several Imperial lines skirmished with one another during maneuvering and firing drills. The recent hard-won victories there provided the commanders, crews and pilots with ample amounts of debris fields in order to offer them challenges and prepare them for more combat.

A more stalwart resistance was put up by another Rebel commander - a vile traitor to the Empire. Line Captain Phendan Brelan was once considered a courageous and skillful wing commander in the Imperial Navy before his fall from grace. Now he suffers the hatred of millions of former comrades-in-arms and the disdain of billions of loyal Imperial citizens. He paid for his betrayal early when he was driven from Ruisto. In his cowardly flight from the front line, he fled through the Dac system to the Minntooine system. Regrettably his arrival there gave a momentary pause to another Imperial naval assault along the Giblim Route into the Calamari sector.

Fortunately, Captain Brelan's efforts proved to be futile in the face of the unstoppable Imperial advance as other Imperial commanders destroyed Brelan's Rebel confederates. The Rebel resistance was crushed on Minntooine, liberating it from their anarchic scourge. Among these was Commodore Naboobo, the hero of the Colundra system, who had routed a disorderly band of rebels.

Meanwhile, the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) reports of internecine skirmishes behind rebel lines. This is doubtlessly the effect of military losses triggering a power struggle within rebel ranks. The galaxy will breathe a sigh of relief when the Rebel menace has been lifted from the Outer Rim, and their alien cohorts brought under subjugation.

Imperial Navy Makes Gains Towards Calamari Sector

The Imperial-class star destroyer Pains of Justice exacts the Emperor's vengeance in the Codru system.

CODRU SYSTEM - The Empire is another step closer to crushing the Rebellion bottled up in the Calamari sector, as Munto Codru, along the Overic Griplink, is liberated from the Rebels and their Mon Calamari supporters.

In battles above the planets Turkana and Munto Codru, the Empire proved their mettle against the Rebellion that would tear galactic civilization apart.

After painful battles over the same systems last month, the Empire brought both justice and vengeance to the Rebellion today, dislodging Rebel control over the Turkana system, and wresting it away from the Rebellion in the Codru system.

In particular a line of vessels from the Grim Justice squadron, did great service for Imperial humanity. First defeating one Rebel line in the Turkana system before it drove further into Rebel-held territory, where it took control.

The commander of the line, an enigmatic leader known as Ma'gi'eo, was promptly promoted by Moff Dzon Brennin, overall commander of the effort to bring the Calamari to heel. The newly-promoted Commodore Ma'gi'eo shall command the Grim Justice, and be part of the effort of returning the galaxy to peace and stability, while also bringing the Emperor's justice to the traitors of the Rebel Alliance.

The Turkana system remains contested, as Rebels vessels under the leadership of the infamous Admiral Theia have ensconced themselves in an asteroid belt in the outskirts of the system.

BREAKING NEWS: Rebellion Bombs Civilians in Mullan System

Rebel K-Wing bomber sighted in low orbit of Mullan system prior to releasing ordnance.

MULLAN SYSTEM - Choosing a civilian rather than a military-strategic target, the Rebellion laid waste to civilian areas on Mullan Prime. Empire pays bounty hunters for assistance in eradicating Rebels.

Rebel elements attacked numerous star systems in the Keldrath sector today, with fierce fighting over the Mullan, Brigia, Stalimur, Eredenn, Orion and Clariv systems. The Imperial Admiralty of the Keldrath Sector Group believed Roodkasteel station in the Brigia system to be the intended target of the Rebel attackers. With Rebel assault on Brigia thwarted, the Rebellion, instead, chose a civilian target: the capital system of the sector: Mullan.

The civilian death toll on Mullan is still being determined, but deaths are believed to be in the hundreds, with thousands more wounded and currently unaccounted for. The merciless bombing of the system by Rebel bomber craft is being categorized as a crime against humanity. The attacks are seen as being in line with Rebel war doctrine, known for targeting densely-populated Imperial installations.

The Keldrath Sector Group had initially contracted with private contractors to secure orbits over Mullan Prime, while Imperial Navy units interdicted smugglers in the Brigia system. Concerned over payment subsequent to decisive action against a vanguard Rebel attack on the Mullan system, the private contractors withdrew from Mullan Prime to Roodkasteel station. After a compensation dispute, the private contractors averted a Rebel strike on the station in the Brigia system. After a close encounter with an Imperial Special Operations Unit (a semi-covert Imperial Navy formation involving a VT-49 patrol craft and a classified class of starfighter), the private contractors opted for a generous payment from Imperial taxpayers.

Targeted systems of the Keldrath sector

Elsewhere in the sector, Imperial units fought off Rebel distractions from the Rebellion's true murderous cause at Mullan. Fighting was balanced in the Stalimur system, but the Empire withdrew from the Eredenn system in order to devote resources for the defense of more strategically valuable systems. Imperial units did remove a Rebel presence from the Orion system. The Clariv system is considered to have been invaded by either Rebels or criminal syndicates.

As rescue operations remove the dead and wounded from the wreckage left by inhumane Rebel attacks on Mullan Prime, the Keldrath Sector Group of the Imperial Navy shall reassess its approach to destroying Rebel snubfighters and small freighters operated by private contractors.

In these times of fear and terror, the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) is reminding citizens that it is better that the Rebellion is fought in the Outer Rim, than in the Core Worlds, and that such fighting and insurrection against the legitimate government of the galaxy is itself a crime against humanity, and that such barbarism will not stand.

Rebellion and Wanton Piracy on the Overic Griplink

The Victory-class star destroyer Redoubtable evacuates women and children from the transfer station in the Munto Codru system.

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Imperial Navy Sector Headquarters in the Pakuuni system is reporting the successful humanitarian evacuation of a space station in the Munto Codru system, while different rebel warlords and factions jockey for power along the Overic Griplink.

Hostilities began when a pirate band of civilian-seeming small spacecraft ambushed an Imperial vanguard formation in the Reginard system. Meanwhile in the Munto Codru system, an Imperial line arrived at a transfer station in order to assist a pair of Victory-class star destroyers evacuate human children from the space station. Tragically, these star destroyers were part of a cynical ambush, as they proved to be crewed by traitors when they fired on the relief line.

It was at that time that Imperial Intelligence learned of vicious internecine warring between different Rebel factions, while Imperial lines engaged in training maneuvers in the Turkana system. The ships engaged in training maneuvers were quickly reassigned and ordered to answer the distress call at the transfer station in Munto Codru. While engaged in the emergency evacuation, the pirates reported in the Reginard system arrived at the Munto Codru transfer station. While two vessels were lost, the Victory-class Star Destroyer Redoubtable was able to evacuate the women and children aboard that station, courageously bringing refugees on board, while the armed freighters attempted to attack the Redoubtable.

It shocks the loyal conscience that these Rebels and pirates would wantonly attack a humanitarian relief vessel with such brutality. To great rejoicing of the evacuees, the Redoubtable was able to fulfill its mission and bring the child refugees from the Calamari Sector safe to Turkana, despite having a near encounter with the false-flag star destroyers that had attacked the previous rescue mission.

According to transponder records, the Victory-class star destroyers seen to be attacking loyal Imperial Navy forces are believed vessels lost to none other than the murderous Admiral Theia.

As the Redoubtable made the jump to hyperspace, avoiding the false-flag star destroyers, the false destroyers appeared to be under attack by Nebulon-B frigates known to be loyal to the vile Warlord Lyraeus.

Lyraeus, as bloodthirsty rebel a rebel as known to Imperial Intelligence, has proven to be so ambitious for carving out an autonomous fiefdom on the Outer Rim that his forces have more often than not attacked other rebel formations. Yet, as this battle between Rebel factions took place, the withdrawing vanguard line had returned to the Turkana system for repairs, when it was attacked by a rebel line in the Turkana system itself. The withdrawing line managed to make the jump to lightspeed, yet this unfortunately left Turkana in Rebel hands.

This occupation, while clearly a danger to the peoples of the Turkana system, their reign of terror is not imagined to last, as the Rebel units continue to fight among one another for their petty fiefdoms.

Imperial Starfighters Clear the Spacelanes of Rebel and Other Criminal Activity

TIE/x1 Advanced escort fighter patrolling the systems of the Tion Cluster

RAXUS SYSTEM - Pilots for the Imperial Navy struck yet another blow for order, stability, and the Imperial Way, today. With actions along the Tion Trade Route, rebel and criminal activity has been suitably crushed, and will think again before rearing its ugly head.

The Imperial Navy continues to clear crime and insurrection out of the sectors near the justly beleaguered Calamari Sector. Today, flights of space superiority fighters engaged in a hunt for rebels and other criminals along the Tion Trade Route between Raxus and Eredenn.

Systems cleared of crime and insurrection along the Tion Trade Route

The Imperial pilots were so eager to show their mettle against scum of all colors, that some Imperial units came to blows between one another. Some report that the Emperor Himself came to witness their prowess, doubtlessly spurring on our pilots' zeal to rid the galaxy of crime and rebellion.

The casualties taken through such 'friendly fire' actions have been deemed by the Imperial Navy Admiralty as well as the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) to be acceptable losses.

While tragic, it is understood that "TIE pilots will be TIE pilots". As long as the criminals and insurrectionists are dealt with, any losses are considered to be for the greatest cause - galactic stability and the Emperor's glory.

A particularly-heated exchange took place in the Rudrig system, where the Tion Trade Route meets the Rudrig-Gbu Way, as different units - some including private contractors - had jurisdictional disputes.

Ultimately, all was for the best, as the criminals were thoroughly put down and turned to flight.

Similar actions are expected tomorrow towards the trailing end of the Tion Trade Route, as units operating from Roodkasteel station also commence counter-terrorism actions.

Lord Darth Vader Finds New Ways to Motivate Troops

Lord Vader declines comments to the press

PAKUUNI SYSTEM - Lord Darth Vader takes a personal hand in reviewing and inspiring Imperial stormtroopers. Some found wanting. Vader also led a raid against Rebel insurgents on Turkana after the Imperial Navy secured Turkana's capture.

Lord Darth Vader, special assistant for disciplinary affairs of Emperor Palpatine, has begun an internal review of the stormtrooper corps.

Assisted by a cadre of officers from the Central Committee for Discipline Inspection of the Stormtrooper Corps' Human Resources department, Lord Vader has taken a 'hands-on approach' to the Stormtrooper Corps' operational readiness assessment.

While Lord Vader did not have an opportunity to speak with HNN, one adjutant to Lord Vader, told HNN that while one stormtrooper squad was found wanting in operational readiness, another was found to be quite adequate.

"We're proud of our stormtroopers," Lord Vader's adjutant, Colonel U.S.Eless, told HNN. "This recent squad was quick to respond to Lord Vader's examination, and did so while put under stress by a sustained turbolaser barrage from Lord Vader's own star destroyer, the Devastator

Asked about the squad that did not meet Lord Vader's expectation, Col. Eless assured HNN that this squad would no longer be a problem in the future.

Beyond engaged in an operational readiness review, Lord Vader also made time in his busy schedule to demonstrate skill and inspire morale by personally engaging in a strike against a rebel cell on Turkana. According to Col. Eless, one wookiee and some rebel insurgents were still at large, the rebel cell's leader had been struck down by Lord Vader personally.

Turkana was just recently captured by Imperial Navy forces, liberating both the world and its system from a rebel naval presence. Ground operations are underway to rid the planet of ground based rebel cells.

Imperial Navy Drives Towards Mon Calamari Homeworld, Seizing Turkana

Theia's fleet of Corellian corvettes attempting to attack a civilian convoy in the Shaylin system.

TURKANA SYSTEM - The Imperial Navy struck a strong blow for galactic peace and stability today, destroying the Rebel presence in the Turkana system.

The Imperial Navy made a powerful advance towards the Calamari sector today. In the Turkana system, the vanguard battle line encountered stiff resistance from the forces of the abominable warlord Lyraeus. These were driven to retreat back to the Shaylin system. There, rebel privateers commanded by the infamous Admiral Theia attempted to attack a civilian convoy evacuating innocent civilians, but were halted by another Imperial attack line.

Admiral Theia is a ruthless war criminal, responsible for the mass killing of human civilians aboard an orbital station in the Ryndellia system nearly seven months ago. While cynically claiming to have an interest in protecting human life, the attack vector of her flotilla of corvette was unmistakable. Unfortunately for the war criminal, the convoy she had targeted proved to be an Imperial attack line commanded by none other than Admiral Screed.

Having routed Theia's forces, Admiral Screed pushed on towards Turkana. There he encountered the forces of the warlord Lyraeus, attempting to ensconce his assault frigates near a dangerous asteroid field. Lyraeus' bloodthirstiness proved to be a liability when his frigates were flanked by two Victory-class star destroyers under Admiral Screed's command. Lyraeus' forces quickly engaged the hyperdrive, imprudently driving deeper into territory reclaimed by the Empire.

With Admiral Screed's forces saving the forward momentum towards the Mon Calamari homeworld, Lyraeus and Theia managed to regroup at the Shaylin system. Rather than joining forces against the Empire, these two rivals for dominance within the Rebel ranks set upon eachother, as Theia's forces ambushed those belonging to Lyraeus.

Having captured the Turkana system, the Imperial Navy expects to suppress rebel activity in the Shaylin system, while moving on to Munto Codru system and ever closer to victory over the vicious and fractious Rebellion.

Imperial Heroes Keep Advanced Technology Out of Private Hands

New TIE Punisher Heavy Bomber

ARCAN SYSTEM - while engaged in a campaign against Rebel traffic along the Perlemian Trade Route, Imperial pilots encountered and thwarted an attempt by private parties to steal new naval starfighter technology.

While engaged in an interdiction mission against Rebel traffic, a standard unit of TIE fighters escorting an element of TIE Bombers, encountered an attempt by a private party to misappropriate a TIE Punisher heavy bomber.

The Imperial Navy pilots selflessly sacrificed their lives preventing the private party, flying a Mandalorian Firespray-31-class attack craft, from making off with the TIE Punisher, piloted by an associate. While the Firespray was able to escape, the TIE Punisher craft was abandoned by the ship thieves, and will hopefully be back in Imperial hands once recovered.

The TIE Punisher, developed by Sienar Fleet Systems in the neighboring Lianna system, is a new heavy bomber craft capable of delivering large payloads of both self-propelled and gravity/momentum-delivered ordnance. Capable of being fitted with sophisticated systems, it represents a powerful weapons platform enhancing Imperial capabilities of bringing peace and stability back to the galaxy.

The patrols were part of a broader interdiction campaign, and only the Emperor's infinite wisdom can explain the good fortune of having thwarted the attempt to steal such valuable technology. With the Rebellion sending desperate reinforcements toward the blockaded Calamari system, Imperial pilots have been expertly interdicting rebel units along the Perlemian Trade Route, connecting the Core Worlds with the Outer Rim towards the Calamari Sector. These efforts have halted all but a few rebel fighters to slip through Imperial-controlled space along the route.

Following Caluula, Imperial Navy Presses Advantage

Lord Vader's attack line firing long-range turbolasers at Rebel line, while a bomber wing led by Lord Vader himself moves towards the rebel front.

CALUULA SYSTEM - Pressing the advantage after the victory in the Caluula system, the Empire makes gains driving towards the Calamari sector. Meanwhile, the Rebellion witnesses the rise of a new warlord.

With the Rebellion in disarray after its crushing defeat at Caluula the previous day, Lord Vader has ordered the forces under his command to drive towards the Mon Calamari homeworld. Regrouping his own forces, Lord Vader repositioned the attack line under his command to drive towards the Calamari sector over the Overic Griplink. Meanwhile, he left the coreward route to Commodore Charis Naboobo, the hero of the Colundra Sector.

In the Dellalt system, Commodore Naboobo scored a victory over hapless rebel forces, when intelligence reports arrived at the Sector Group headquarters of a new Rebel warlord making a name for himself by attacking his fellow rebels in the Minntooine system.

Imperial Intelligence reports of a rebel warlord known as Iskander, a brutal leader seeking dominance within the Rebel Alliance by attacking fellow rebel warbands. While seemingly counterproductive to the misguided purpose of breaking away from Imperial governance, analysts understand the internecine rebel skirmishes to be a method of securing leadership within rebel ranks, with the most vicious and inhuman leaders rising in the traitorous pecking order.

Ordered to drive towards Minntooine in order to head off this new rebel warlord at Minntoine, Commodore Naboobo found himself surprised and outmaneuvered by the warlord at Dellalt. Nevertheless, Naboobo managed to fight the Rebellion to a standstill.

Concurrently, Lord Vader's attack line defeated a rebel band in the Shaylin system, being the first system along the Overic Griplink from the Pakuuni system. Leading the squadrons himself, Lord Vader destroyed a Nebulon-B support frigate, driving the remainder of the rebel line into retreat.

Ordering Naboobo to account for himself at Sector Group Headquarters on Pakuuni, the Commodore attempted to impress Lord Vader by demonstrating his combat prowess. While Lord Vader summarily destroyed Naboobo's attack line in simulated combat, Lord Vader spared Naboobo's life, ordering him to redouble his efforts in defeating the Rebellion.

"Don't fail me, Commodore," Lord Vader warned Naboobo.

Taking advantage of the lull in the Imperial advance, the rebel warlord destroyed the forces of yet another rival for Rebel leadership.

While the Empire would have been undeservedly lenient on the wayward Mon Calamari and Quarren for a momentary lack of faith in Imperial governance, the Dac system's denizens' declaration for the Rebellion has put them beyond salvation.

Imperial Navy Liberates Caluula System, Mon Calamari Declare for Rebellion

An Imperial fleet takes control of a space station in the Caluula system

CALUULA SYSTEM - After a series of hard-won naval battles, the Empire takes control over the Caluula system. Plans for the blockade and pacification of the Calamari sector are on schedule to proceed.

After much preparation in wargames between Imperial line commanders, the Caluula system - a strategic system connecting the Calamari sector to civilized space - was liberated from Rebel control by Imperial Navy. Meanwhile, various Rebel warlords came to blows with one another over control of petty personal fiefdoms in local systems.

Primary responsibility for the victory lay with Lord Darth Vader himself, who assumed command of the operation to retake the critical system. Initially leading and flying escort for the Pakuuni sector TIE Bomber Wing, Lord Vader took command of the final battle from the bridge of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Overlord.

Aside from Rebel fractiousness, the victory at Caluula is also said to be the result of a campaign of distraction, ordered by Lord Vader. Rebel fleet elements were lured into neighboring systems, distracting them from Caluula's defense. The Rebellion was eager to prevent Imperial Navy elements from bringing humanitarian aid to local citizens, and attempts at providing such humanitarian aid was used as an enticement to draw out the Rebel forces.

Imperial commanders were quick to add that the humanitarian aid was their primary mission, and any drawing out of Rebel units was nothing more than a side benefit.

In the final battle for Caluula, Lord Vader's ship, the Overlord led a battlegroup of Gladiator-class star destroyers and one Raider-class corvette to secure a space station near the primary hyperspace transfer point. By the time Lord Vader's battle group arrived, the station was only protected by a refurbished Calamari luxury liner refitted with turbolasers.

The presence of the refitted Calamari luxury liner is being taken as evidence that the Mon Calamari have thrown in their lot with the Rebellion. It was a development expected by Imperial strategists, but one the people's of the Calamari and Quarren homeworld will doubtlessly learn to regret.

While some of the Gladiator-class star destroyers were lost in the battle, the lives of their crews were an honorable sacrifice for the cause of returning peace and stability to the region, and they will ultimately serve the goal of liberating the Calamari sector of their marine-life oppressors of the Dac system.
