Z-95 "Headhunters"; an old fighter type still employed by the rebellion as well as criminal elements in the Arkanis sector
SIRPAR SYSTEM - the Imperial Navy executed two attacks upon a rebel supply shipment today, with the smuggling vessel first escaping the sortie, but the second being successful in the destruction of the vessel. The vessel was identified due to its heavy fighter escort, flying through the Sirpar system on a route coreward route along the Corellian Run.
In their efforts to protect their freighters, the rebellion as well as other criminal elements have resorted to use of Z-95 so- called "Headhunters", once the backbone of the Republic navy.
Incom Industries, the manufacturer of the Z-95 has been taken over by Imperial authorities, and its management and engineers have been justly sentenced to labor in the Kessel spice mines for their treason. Beyond the Z-95, Incom Industries have also produced X-wing fighters, the notorious rebel starfighter.
Despite more dramatic successes in the neighboring sectors, the Arkanis sector itself remains a lawless and rebellious hive of traitors and malcontents. In order to return stability to the sector, the Imperial Navy has launched on a campaign to embargo the sector of war materièl from the outside, but also interdict supply shipments within the sector.
In order to circumvent the Savareen blockade, the rebellion has been making use of light Corellian freighters to move their contraband, as their larger vessels - mainly also of Corellian design - have been intercepted by regular patrols. The Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) has been tasked with investigating the Corellian Engineering Corporation for possible ties to the Rebellion.
